JPC-15000

The LUXMAN 15000 series line cables feature a large diameter core utilizing high-purity 7N CLASS D.U.C.C. (99.99998%+ pure copper*) to ensure lower impedance. LUXMAN original technologies, such as a non-twisted structure of binding hot and cold lines in parallel to eliminate unwanted inductance, an integrated bound structure of the Left and Right channels to minimize unwanted ground loops and individual shielding for hot and cold transmission lines (reducing line-to-line capacitance by half) are also featured, resulting in an unconstrained and lively sound. The JPR-15000 features newly developed, easy to mount, high quality RCA terminals that are constructed of high conductivity materials. The JPC-15000 is fitted with genuine XLR terminals manufactured by Neutrik®. A newly developed, adjustable branch holder with an integral aluminum cover allows the length from the terminal to the holder to be easily adjusted without compromising the structural performance or appearance.

Luxman L-509Z — refined power and analogue finesse

The Luxman L-509Z pairs substantial Class‑AB muscle with a remarkably clear, balanced and musical presentation, making it an immediate favourite for two‑channel purists. Reviewers from Ken Kessler, What Hi‑Fi? and The Ear note a wide, holographic soundstage, natural midrange and taut, authoritative bass. Dynamics are generous and composed, aided by Luxman’s high damping factor and bipolar output stage; transients are fast without sounding harsh. Build quality is heavyweight and precise (29.4kg), with tactile controls, VU meters and the LECUA‑EX volume system for micro‑adjustments. The flexible MM/MC phono, dual headphone outputs and expanded tone controls make it ideal for vinyl lovers and space‑conscious systems that still demand high performance. In short, the L‑509Z rewards careful system pairing and offers a compelling analogue‑first one‑box solution.

The Ear

"This will be the yardstick by which all future visiting amplifiers will be measured here, and it will take something really extraordinary to replace the L-509Z in my affections."

Pros

  • Exceptionally clear, balanced sonic character with a wide, holographic soundstage and stable imaging.
  • Generous, composed dynamics and drive (120W/8Ω, 220W/4Ω) that handle demanding speakers without strain.
  • High‑quality construction and refined controls—heavy chassis, precise ergonomics and the LECUA‑EX volume system for fine level setting.
  • Versatile analogue feature set: adaptable MM/MC phono stage, balanced inputs and dual headphone outputs that perform well in real listening.

Cons

  • Premium pricing that places it at the high end of the market and may be out of reach for many buyers.
  • No built‑in digital inputs/DAC — buyers who rely on digital sources will need a separate DAC.
  • Benefits from careful system matching; some rivals can sound slightly richer with different speaker pairings.

Sound Quality

91/100

Dynamics

91/100

With 120W/8Ω (220W/4Ω) Class-AB bipolar output and a high damping factor (330), reviewers report generous power, composure and the ability to swing from very quiet to very loud without strain ('generous power output', 'composure', 'sitting still was simply not an option'). One reviewer notes separates can offer more slam, so while dynamics are excellent they stop short of absolute reference fury.

Soundstage Imaging

92/100

Several reviewers describe a wide, deep and holographic soundstage with stable imaging and excellent instrument placement ('holographic soundstage', 'wide, deep and stable', 'true 3D sound'). The amplifier consistently locks images in place and renders depth and width with strong coherence.

Build Quality

92/100

Build and finish are repeatedly praised ('built like a Leica', 'exemplary build quality', heavy 29.4kg chassis), with high-quality controls (LECUA-EX) and no-compromise construction. Reviewers find fit-and-finish and mechanical execution excellent.

Features Connectivity

91/100

The L-509Z offers a comprehensive feature set: six line inputs including balanced XLRs, an adaptable built-in phono with MM and two MC options, both 6.3mm and balanced 4.4mm headphone outputs, tone controls (now including midrange), remote/LECUA-EX fine volume control and pre-outs. That rich, well-thought-out set of analog-focused features justifies a high features score.

Value for Money

89/100

Reviewers acknowledge a premium price (UK pricing cited around £10,999–£11,000; MSRP/list price in product data ~14,495), with comments that it may seem 'a little rich' yet is 'deserves a high place on your shortlist' and 'would be on my shortlist'. Sentiment is that the amp justifies its premium for buyers in this segment, but it is not repeatedly described as a bargain.
