Controlled, tight bass from its acoustic‑suspension cabinet anchors a fast, transparent midrange and silky treble, yielding expansive imaging and refinement praised by StereoNET United Kingdom and Alpha Audio, with impressive detail retrieval and soundstaging that will thrill two‑channel listeners; classic finishes and solid build make the Model Five a musical, high‑value floorstander.
Pros
- Sealed (acoustic-suspension) design delivers deep, controlled, and articulate bass.
- Transparent, life‑like midrange with strong vocal and instrumental clarity.
- Refined, non‑fatiguing treble and excellent imaging/soundstaging with notable detail retrieval.
- High-quality finishes and robust cabinet/driver construction that suit living‑room aesthetics.
&
Cons
- Impedance dips (to ~3.5Ω) and recommended power range mean some low‑power or fussy amps may struggle.
- Voicing leans toward musical two‑channel presentation rather than razor‑sharp precision for analytical listeners.
Sound Quality
94/100
Weighted average of sub-criteria below.
Bass
94/100
Reviews repeatedly praise the low end: StereoNET calls it 'wonderfully deep, tight, and articulate' and notes 'useful extra output very low down', while Alpha Audio lists a measured frequency range down to 42 Hz and describes the acoustic-suspension woofer as accurate and linear. The sealed (acoustic suspension) 25 cm woofer produces controlled, tight bass rather than slow or wobbling lows, which supports a high score for extension and control.
Mid
94/100
Both reviews emphasise clear, life-like midrange: StereoNET says 'vocal and instrumental clarity' and that the speaker 'demonstrated Chester's voice and the band's instrumental harmonics beautifully', while Alpha Audio calls them 'extremely transparent'. Tonal accuracy and coherence through the crossover region are repeatedly noted.
Treble
93/100
Treble is described as 'surprisingly good' and 'silky and gentle' by StereoNET and Alpha Audio notes the soft-dome tweeter implementation; reviewers highlight detail without forwardness or harshness, supporting a very strong score for extension and refinement.
Soundstage Imaging
94/100
StereoNET praises detail retrieval and soundstaging 'on a par with some of the best standmount speakers I've heard' and states the Model Five 'images effortlessly' with immersive presentation (example: Tool track imaging). Alpha Audio's comments about transparency further back up the imaging performance.
Dynamics
93/100
Reviewers note good transient behaviour and that the speaker handles powerful passages without harshness (StereoNET's Ready Player One example) and Alpha Audio highlights the woofer's linear, accurate performance. Dynamics are energetic and controlled with no reviewer saying the speaker 'runs out of steam'.

Build Quality
93/100
Both reviews compliment finishes and construction: Alpha Audio praises the veneer and aluminium-framed driver mounting with rubber suspension, StereoNET notes African mahogany veneer, old-world linen grille cloth and 3/4 inch MDF sealed-box construction. Materials, finishing and cabinet engineering are consistently described as high quality.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive baseline applied. The speaker is a passive sealed (acoustic suspension) design with sensible sensitivity/impedance notes; StereoNET documents an attenuation knob for mid/high roll-off which helps room matching but this does not change the passive baseline score.
Value for Money
92/100
Review language is explicitly positive about value: StereoNET calls it a 'good buy' and 'highly recommended', Alpha Audio calls it a 'fantastic all around versatile speaker' that the reviewer is keeping. Given the listed price range (~1,649) and the reviewers' recommendations, this earns an explicit 'well priced/good value' rating but not the extreme 'steal' phrasing.
