Joseph Audio PEARL Graphene
The very breath of music flows as dynamic nuances and minute details are reproduced with the gentle touch of a master's brush. Thunderous low frequencies are delivered with authoritative and articulate control as you are transported into an environment of music that is effortless, natural, alive and whole.
Masterful in its pure revelation of music and magical in its ability to utterly disappear, the Pearl Graphene is a loudspeaker for music lovers that want to get off the upgrade merry-go-round and fall in love for life.
Housed in separate enclosures and linked by solid brass points, the Pearl's tweeter and midrange are isolated from the dual woofers below. The input posts are the Patented Cardas vise-type design (CE approved) for maximum contact. The aluminum cone woofers were custom created with additional magnet mass, and copper pole piece for the cleanest possible bass reproduction. The zinc alloy cast frame has extreme rigidity and narrow fingers to minimize any internal reflections.
A field array of tiny yet powerful magnets are spaced around the edge of the tweeter's voice coil, allowing the area behind the dome to remain clear of any reflective materials.
To hear the Pearl Graphenes is to experience your favorite recorded music anew. You can relax and forget about the usual artifacts that cloud the sound and render it an artificial imitation. The Pearl Graphene propels you back in time to experience performance nuances and musical magic that lesser systems gloss over.

Effervescent midrange and airy highs anchor the PEARL Graphene’s musical personality, pairing precise imaging with deep, authoritative bass and wide soundstaging. Joseph’s patented Asymmetrical Infinite Slope crossover and graphene-coated mid driver yield detailed, low‑distortion delivery, praised by Andre Jennings and Best of High End for its musical poise and refinement.
Pros
- Exceptionally refined midrange and smooth, fatigue‑free treble that preserve detail and tonal naturalness.
- Deep, authoritative bass with strong extension and a user-selectable Bass Damping system for room tuning.
- Impressive imaging and wide soundstaging with clear direct‑vs‑reflected separation that renders orchestral depth convincingly.
- Robust engineering: graphene-coated mid driver, steep Asymmetrical Infinite Slope crossover and braced cabinets reduce distortion and driver interactions.

Cons
- Relatively low sensitivity (≈86 dB) means the speakers demand a high‑current, high‑power amplifier to avoid constrained dynamics.
- Flagship price positioning reduces value‑for‑money appeal for many buyers despite excellent performance.

Bass
95/100
Dual 8" woofers with a listening-window spec within 2 dB down to 25 Hz and multiple reviewer comments describing 'heroic', 'ample' and 'authoritative' bass support an very strong low end. Reviewers note a slight room/placement interaction and a user-selectable damping system that tames a 50–70 Hz boost, but in-room extension and impact are repeatedly praised.
Mid
94/100
Graphene-coated 7" mid and SEAS-developed motor optimized with FEA deliver clear, detailed, and coherent midrange; reviewers call the mid 'effervescent', very refined and central to the speaker's character. Minor comment about slightly more 'mouth and throat than chest' on some vocals, but overall midrange accuracy and presence are highly praised.
Treble
94/100
1" Sonatex dome tweeter extending beyond 20 kHz with wide dispersion produces airy, detailed highs described as smooth and fatigue-free. Reviewers specifically note excellent focus and spaciousness with no sense of brightness or harshness.
Soundstage Imaging
94/100
Multiple reviews highlight a large, well-defined soundstage with clear direct-vs-reflected separation and precise instrument placement; orchestral recordings are rendered with convincing depth and width. Imaging is described as stable and allowing individual instruments to 'sound fabulous' within the mix.
Dynamics
90/100
Dynamic swells are described as free-flowing and crystal clear, showing good micro/macro dynamics and slam when the system can supply current. Low sensitivity (86 dB) and reviewer admonitions that the Pearl 'needs an amplifier with enough power' indicate dynamics can be constrained by an underpowered amp, hence a small deduction.

Build Quality
92/100
MDF enclosures with internal bracing, additional side panels to minimize vibration, high-quality driver engineering (graphene coatings, copper pole parts) and a carefully engineered crossover are cited as evidence of solid cabinet and component engineering. Finish details not extensively discussed but construction is repeatedly described as acoustically inert and well-executed.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive tower baseline applied. Notable passive design feature: Joseph's patented Asymmetrical Infinite Slope crossover (extremely steep 120 dB/octave) is highlighted by reviewers, but no active DSP, app control, or extra connectivity features are present.
Value for Money
64/100
Exceptional performance is regularly praised, but the product is a very high-priced flagship (product data lists ~$51,999; a review lists $37,995). Given that price level and no strong reviewer language claiming extraordinary value-for-money, a modest value score is assigned despite strong sonic merits.
