The Triton Five is a larger version of the Award Winning Triton Seven, with greater dynamic range and even deeper bass extension, plus important refinements carried over from the Triton One development program. As with all of our Triton Towers, the Triton Five’s high-resolution sonic performance makes it ideal for use in two channel systems of the highest quality, as well as complete multi-channel surround music and home theater systems. “They absolutely rock the speaker world’s foundation to the core … delivering the kind of musical bliss some pay upwards of $10,000 for”, raves Caleb Denison of Digital Trends.

The Five’s unique cabinet shape is both acoustically purposeful as well as strikingly attractive. Its narrow front baffle and stylish rearward rake, in conjunction with the complex crossover, both aligns the driver array precisely for a coherent wave-launch directed at ear level at the listening position, as well as results in non-parallel front and rear baffles for better control of internal standing waves. And, the non-parallel side cabinet walls and slanted top provide the same acoustical performance benefit.

A D’Appolito array of two 6″ long-throw midrange/bass drivers surround the same High Velocity Folded Ribbon AMT Tweeter used in all the Triton Towers. The Five incorporates FOUR side-mounted, opposing, inertially-balanced planar back-wave-driven radiators, located on either side of the cabinet down near the floor for optimum coupling to the room. And the Fives will deliver exceptional performance with moderately priced receivers, while also allowing you to appreciate the subtle qualities of the world’s finest audio components.

Deliciously Crispy

Powerful bass, a wide-open soundstage and a detailed midrange define the Triton Five, delivering fast, unforced treble and precise imaging that lets music sit naturally in the room. Reviewers praised its engineering-focused build and surprising authority for a slim tower; see HiFi News for the full appraisal.

HiFi News

"the Triton Fives are not just ridiculously good for the money, but also remarkably easy to enjoy."

Pros

  • Deep, authoritative bass with notable weight and extension for a compact tower.
  • Natural, well-detailed midrange that presents vocals and acoustic instruments with coherence and nuance.
  • Broad, focused soundstage with precise imaging that makes music feel present and spacious.
  • Exceptional value — performance-per-dollar is a standout in its price segment.

Cons

  • Modest cabinet finishes and the simple fabric 'sock' aesthetic may disappoint buyers seeking premium styling.
  • Bass from the side-mounted passive radiators can be room-sensitive; careful toe-in and speaker spacing are needed to avoid over-excitation.

Bass

95/100

Reviewers repeatedly praise the Triton Five's weight, power and extension, noting bass that makes larger, more expensive speakers 'sound just plain silly.' The driver complement (two 6" mid/bass drivers plus four 8" planar sub-bass radiators) and -6dB anechoic spec at 40Hz support exceptional low-end authority for its class.

Mid

94/100

The midrange is described as natural, rich and detailed with 'remarkable handling of voices' and 'startling detail'—vocals and acoustic instruments are presented with coherence and nuance. Cast-basket 6" drivers and reviewer comments indicate very strong midband timbre and presence.

Treble

92/100

The AMT folded-ribbon tweeter is credited with revealing treble detail and air without harshness; reviewers note 'startling detail in the treble' and a sound that is fast and crisp without brashness. Treble extension and refinement are strong and well controlled.

Soundstage Imaging

94/100

Observers report a wide-open, focused soundstage with music that seems to 'float in the room' and speakers that become acoustically 'invisible.' Imaging is precise and the presentation is expansive for slim towers, per the review.

Dynamics

93/100

Described as fast, crisp and capable of punchy transient behavior: percussion is 'clean and oh so tight' with 'thundering bass' and authoritative guitar snap. Reviewers found no obvious compression or lack of headroom at reasonable listening levels.

Build Quality

90/100

Construction favors function over flashy finishes: a simple wrap with gloss-moulded caps but with cast-basket long-throw 6" drivers and focused engineering where it matters. Review notes imply solid engineering and driver quality though finishes are modest.

Features Connectivity

80/100

Passive tower baseline applied per rules. Designed to work with modest to serious amplification and integrate into AV/multi-channel setups; no DSP/app features expected or penalized.

Value for Money

95/100

Multiple reviewers explicitly call the Triton Five 'ridiculously good for the money' and 'remarkable value' at the stated price (~$1,000), making it a standout performance-per-dollar proposition in its segment.
