Elipson PRESTIGE FACET 8B
Remarkable for their finish quality and their natural and precise sound, the Prestige Facet 8B bookshelf speakers provide an ideal solution for small spaces.
The Elipson Prestige Facet 8B speaker introduces a host of innovative technologies. The most visible is undeniably the ring of sculpted facets surrounding each driver, which gives the range its name. A rigorous design process ensures optimal acoustic performance, while an elegant finish allows the speaker to blend in harmoniously with your interior decor.
The Prestige Facet 8B is availble in black, walnut and white. Signs of a high-quality finish include a double-layer front panel to which a black or white lacquer is applied. Medium-sized, it is equipped with a 17 cm low midrange driver featuring a bullet-shaped phase plug to limit vibrations and, consequently, reduce distortion. A 25 mm soft dome tweeter reproduces highs with finesse and precision. The multifaceted, sculpted silicone surround rings encircling each driver reduce the baffle effect and limit diffractions. The result is a more linear response curve and a smoother listening experience.
Extra attention has been paid to the speaker's cabinet. The lacquered front panel is composed of two dense, thick materials and strengthened by several internal brackets. The speaker's steep-slope filter relies on highly efficient, audiophile-grade components. As for the finish quality, it is not overlooked and offers benefits such as premium-quality vinyl and a lacquered front panel.
At Elipson, the back counts as much as the front. That is why our designers have created rounded, high-end dual speaker terminals which offer the possibility of biwiring and biamplifying while benefiting from silver-plated contacts to maximize signal transmission. Banana plugs may also be connected to the terminals.
Neutral and accurate, this speaker delivers sound which is free from colouration and faithful to the original recording. Impressions of smoothness and serenity emanate from each track as it is masterfully reproduced, without any hint of harshness. The experts weren't wrong when they awarded the Elipson Prestige Facet 8B speaker with the Choc Classica and Diapason d'Or awards. A champion in its category!
The Prestige Facet 8B's high sensitivity allows it to be paired with any amplifier with a power rating of 85 W or less per channel. Its lively performance make it an excellent surround sound speaker for a home cinema installation.

Bass
90/100
For a ~170mm mid/bass in a bass-reflex cabinet the 8B delivers deep, well-controlled low end: reviewers describe 'strong but never boomy' bass, 'adequate low-end grunt' and 'deep thump' when driven. Ported design and cabinet depth contribute to extension (~47Hz) and impactful slam; reviewers emphasise good discipline and lack of boom, justifying an excellent-for-size rating.
Mid
86/100
Midrange is largely smooth and neutral per The Ear ('almost to monitor quality') but The Audiophile Man noted occasional 'mushy' or slightly unfocused mids on some material. Vocals and acoustic guitar are generally presentable and non-edgy, though detail can blur with delicate classical/jazz passages.
Treble
89/100
Tweeter performance is smooth and non-fatiguing — reviewers praise the soft-dome treble and absence of metallic brightness. Treble extension and refinement support a seamless top end without harshness, contributing to long-term listening comfort.
Soundstage Imaging
92/100
Both reviews highlight an unusually large, open soundstage for the cabinet size — 'enormous soundstage' and an image 'far bigger than their size would suggest.' Good drive-unit integration and dispersion treatment produce convincing width, depth and a coherent, stable image.
Dynamics
84/100
Dynamics are competent and can be exciting with energetic rock/electronica (reviewer noted the speakers 'spring to life'), but some material exposes limited aggression and timing (e.g., rock and heavily synthesized tracks). The speaker benefits from being driven harder to reveal full dynamic range.

Build Quality
90/100
Solid craftsmanship with lacquered dual-density baffles, internal bracing and quality crossover parts (MKT caps, low-DCR inductors) reported. The cabinet design and driver surrounds are noted as purposeful and well executed, supporting low resonance and good aesthetics.
Features Connectivity
82/100
Passive bookshelf baseline applied (80) with +2 for bi-wiring/bi-amp capable screw terminals and quality silver connectors mentioned in spec/reviews. No DSP/streaming expected — score remains within passive bounds.
Value for Money
90/100
Reviewers position the 8B as a strong offering for the price: The Ear calls it a benchmark at this price-point and The Audiophile Man lists a favorable street price (one review cites £499). Even if MSRP varies (product data shows 699), performance, build and soundstage punch above many peers in its segment, supporting high value.
