Elipson MUSIC CENTER CONNECT HD
The Elipson Music Centre Connect HD stands out for an expansive soundstage and a neutral, detailed midrange that gives vocals real presence — points highlighted by The Audiophile Man. Its sonic strengths include precise percussion, wide imaging and a focused bass that sacrifices deep extension for clarity and control. Under the hood are twin 120W ICEpower class‑D amps, aptX Bluetooth, CD player, RDS/DAB+ tuner, adjustable sub output and an included Chromecast Audio dongle, making it exceptionally well featured for an all‑in‑one. A distinctive, curved design delivers shelf appeal, while practical compromises in tactile finish and rear‑facing sockets temper the experience. Ideal for listeners who want studio‑like imaging and plug‑and‑play versatility in a compact package, it represents strong value at the price point.
Pros
- Generous, three‑dimensional soundstage and separation that creates a roomy, theatrical presentation.
- Neutral, detailed midrange with expressive vocal texture and precise percussion across sources (CD, Bluetooth, optical).
- Extensive connectivity and features for an all‑in‑one: 2×120W ICEpower amps, aptX Bluetooth, CD, DAB+/FM, optical/USB, pre‑out and adjustable sub output plus included Chromecast.
&
Cons
- Chassis finish feels plasticky and less premium to the touch, which undermines its stylish looks.
- Headphone jack, USB and MP3 inputs are rear‑facing, making everyday access awkward in many furniture setups.
- Included Chromecast can be fiddly to set up; reviewer notes the wireless integration feels clunky compared with the rest of the package.
Sound Quality
89/100
Dynamics
87/100
Class-D 120W per channel topology sets expectations in the 50-150W band; reviewer reports 'lots of bass power and impact' and percussion as 'crisp and precise' with techno bass remaining focused rather than flabby. No complaints of clipping or lack of headroom, so dynamics are rated above typical for the class.
Soundstage Imaging
92/100
Strong praise for space and separation: 'wide and even spread', 'air and space... expanding the soundstage', and 'instrumental separation never allowed the music to sound crowded.' Multiple references to 3D placement and theatrical presentation justify a top-tier imaging score.

Build Quality
75/100
Looks are complimented but tactile quality criticized: reviewer calls out a 'plastic feel' and that it 'feels a little cheap' and 'tacky.' Practical layout issues (headphone/USB sockets at rear) also detract from perceived build/usability.
Features Connectivity
95/100
Very well featured for an all-in-one: RCA inputs, optical, USB input, pre-out, 3.5mm, headphone jack, adjustable sub output, CD player, RDS DAB+ FM tuner, aptX Bluetooth (24/48), and included Chromecast Audio dongle for Wi‑Fi streaming. These extras push the unit into the 'fully-featured' band (capped at 95 per rules).
Value for Money
90/100
Reviewer explicitly cites value: 'An impressive option... offering a host of bells and whistles' and lists 'value for money' among the FOR points. At the ~£/€/$999 price point the combination of sound, features and compact footprint are described as justifying the cost.
