Value for Money
85/100
Elipson’s flagship floorstander delivers fully extended bass, vivid vocal nuance and an expansive, concert-like soundstage. The Ear found its relaxed, emotionally fluent presentation equally at home with acoustic music and high-energy material, while the AMT/ceramic driver array and substantial cabinet help it play loudly with impressive ease. A compelling statement speaker for rooms with space to breathe.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Deep, unforced bass combines strong groove with high-level composure.
Nuanced, well-defined vocals and convincing acoustic detail create an emotionally engaging presentation.
Expansive, realistic imaging gives live recordings a persuasive concert-hall scale.
Substantial cabinetry, quality bi-wire terminals and French manufacture support strong build quality.

Cons
Its tall AMT arrangement can make treble seem subdued unless seating height and speaker tilt are carefully managed.
The large cabinet and best-results listening distance make it better suited to generously sized rooms.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 91/100
The Legacy 3230 is portrayed as a relaxed, fluent and emotionally communicative large speaker rather than an overtly analytical one. It combines deep, unforced bass, convincing scale and strong low-level nuance, though its treble balance and presentation height demand careful seating distance and setup.
Bass
95/100
The large twin-woofer cabinet delivers fully extended, unforced bass with serious excursion and a strong sense of groove on Floating Points' “Les Alpx.” The reviewer calls the low end “delicious,” although one Van Morrison recording suggested bass definition was not quite as solid as it could be.
Mid
91/100
Voices are described as consistently well defined, with young Van Morrison sounding spectacular and carrying the full emotional force of the performance. The speaker also reveals fine vocal and guitar detail, making lyrics unusually easy to follow on Olivia Trummer's recording.
Treble
84/100
The AMT treble is smooth and broadly dispersed, but the reviewer initially found the top end subdued. Its vertical dispersion and the speaker's considerable height make listening position important if the listener wants more leading-edge definition.
Soundstage Imaging
92/100
The 3230 renders recorded acoustic space convincingly, with drum ambience extending realistically behind the speakers. At the recommended distance, the perspective creates an especially persuasive concert-hall “being there” effect, though the reviewer suggests around five metres between listener and speakers for best results.
Dynamics
93/100
The speaker can play loudly without apparent compression, maintaining a sense of ease and enjoyment rather than becoming strained. It responds clearly to partnering equipment and can shift from a relaxed character to genuine intensity with more powerful music.

Build Quality
91/100
The review describes substantial 25-30 mm veneered cabinetry with a matte walnut finish, a carefully engineered plinth supported by large machined aluminium cones, and quality bi-wire terminals with cable links. Manufacture in Elipson's Burgundy facility and the substantial physical execution reinforce the impression of a thoughtfully made loudspeaker.
Value for Money
85/100
At the stated 7,500-8,699 price range, the Legacy 3230 is positioned among ambitious large floorstanders, and the reviewer notes that its scale is unusual around its price point. The review does not offer a direct verdict on whether it outperforms competing speakers for the money.
