Value for Money
77/100
The Elipson Horus 6B Active BT favours a smooth, forgiving presentation, keeping vocals and busy mixes cohesive while taking the sting from harsh recordings. What Hi-Fi? found its midrange agreeable and its partnering demands refreshingly low, while the active platform adds broad digital, TV and Bluetooth connectivity. It is a compact, easy-listening hub for relaxed everyday playback.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Smooth, agreeable midrange keeps vocals and complex arrangements cohesive and well organised.
Forgiving treble softens harsh edges, making less-than-perfect recordings easier to enjoy.
Unfussy partnering nature works well with appropriately priced electronics.
&
Cons
Bass can sound soft, tubby and flabby when the speakers are placed too close to a wall.
Rhythmic drive, dynamics and musical insight trail the strongest rivals in the class.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 81/100
The available review finds a smooth, orderly and easy-going presentation, particularly with suitably matched electronics. Its restrained character, soft low end and limited rhythmic drive keep it from challenging the strongest alternatives in its class.
Bass
77/100
Bass is repeatedly described as soft, tubby and lacking control. Placement close to a wall makes the lower registers excessively soft and flabby, though this is a compact 130mm bass-reflex design.
Mid
82/100
The midrange is smooth and agreeable, with vocals and busy arrangements presented cohesively. However, the review notes that a lean Elvis Costello recording loses some of its distinctive character, suggesting limited transparency and expression.
Treble
84/100
The soft-dome treble smooths over harsh edges effectively, making the speaker forgiving with less-than-perfect material. The review does not describe exceptional sparkle, air or fine-detail retrieval.
Soundstage Imaging
82/100
Reviewers praise the speaker's ability to keep an arrangement cohesive, organised and well managed. There is little direct commentary on image width, depth or the ability to disappear in the room.
Dynamics
77/100
Rhythm and dynamic expression are a clear weakness against leading rivals. The presentation is described as reserved and muted, without the drive needed to make energetic material fully involving.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
80/100
The compact two-way cabinet and conventional soft-dome/130mm driver layout appear functional, but the review finds the styling plain and bland rather than distinctive. There is no reported structural flaw, yet reviewers offer little praise for cabinet finish, terminals or long-term durability.
Value for Money
77/100
At the stated €375–€499 range, the review considers the Horus 6B a creditable attempt but says class leaders can better it across the board. Its easy-going sound and compact format may suit undemanding listening, but stronger rivals offer more insight, control and excitement for comparable money.
