Dynaudio Evoke 10
Compact stand-mount speakers for smaller spaces.
Evoke 10
Plug them in, turn them up, and then get a friend round. We’d put money on your pal asking where’s the rest of the speakers are. That’s when you smile, shrug and invite them to sit down in the sweet-spot on your sofa. And then turn it up a bit more.
We’ve been creating speakers that perform out of all proportion to their physical size for over 40 years, and Evoke 10 is no exception. These are serious hi-fi… built for serious entertainment.
Classic Dynaudio heritage… with a twist
Each speaker’s single 14cm long-throw mid/bass driver is made from MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer), just like all Dynaudio speakers have used for decades. They use updated surrounds to extend their throw, their frequency response and their low-frequency dynamics – all while maintaining stellar midrange performance.
Want to know the woofer’s secrets? The diaphragm is 0.4mm thin, which provides exactly the right combination of lightness, stiffness and damping to ensure optimum performance. It’s made of one piece (the dust-cap is part of the playing surface), and is bonded directly to the rigid glass-fibre voice-coil former directly under the Balance Ribs you’ll see around the centre dome. That means the whole unit moves as one, in a predictable (and carefully tuned) way, for a performance that strikes the ideal balance between bass and midrange.
The 38mm voice-coil itself is made from aluminium, making it extremely light. That means we can use more windings. More windings gives us more control over the cone’s movement, which means more control over the sound – even at high volumes and high frequencies. It’s kept stable, centred and true by the aramid fibre spider (the circular spring assembly that stops the cone moving when it shouldn’t, and lets it move when it should).
And the whole assembly is driven by one of our powerful strontium carbonate Ferrite+ ceramic magnet systems.
Cerotar: an improved tweeter
Up top is the 28mm Cerotar soft-dome tweeter. Our engineers looked behind the curtain of the award-winning Special Forty and money-no-object Confidence tweeters and cherry-picked some key technologies to bring to Evoke.
The headline-grabbing component is the Hexis – an ingenious inner dome that refines the airflow behind the playing surface to smooth-out its frequency response and eliminate unwanted resonances.
The Cerotar, like the woofer, is powered by a powerful Ferrite+ ceramic magnet assembly.
Linking the drivers together is a high-grade second-order crossover that uses the Confidence’s design with different components. So, yes, when we say you’re getting high-end tech, we mean it.
Honest Danish design
Evoke 10 is available in four beautiful finishes: Black High Gloss, White High Gloss, Walnut Wood and Blonde Wood. The shiny versions really are just that: improved lacquering techniques have resulted in a sumptuous, almost glass-like finish. The wood versions use a tactile, open natural veneer for either a warm, dark tone or a light apricot look.
You might notice that you can’t see any mounting screws. Evoke has simple, clean trim rings that emphasise the cabinet’s finish as well as the moving parts of the drivers. The rings are one-piece moulded, with the surface finish embedded in the moulding process – so what we make is what you get.
Clean, beautiful and honest. How very Danish.
It means you can take them with you when you move… and, we trust, enjoy them for a lifetime.

The Dynaudio Evoke 10 delivers a remarkably natural midrange and refined treble, thanks to its 14 cm MSP woofer and 28 mm Cerotar soft‑dome tweeter; it pairs precise imaging with controlled bass from a rear‑ported cabinet, and premium build and tuning make it a compelling bookshelf choice for serious listeners.
Pros
- Accurate, textured midrange and strong vocal presence driven by the 14 cm MSP driver and tuned crossover.
- Refined, extended treble from the 28 mm Cerotar soft‑dome with low harshness and good detail retrieval.
- High-quality build and cabinetry with careful crossover design, supporting stable imaging and finish-level craftsmanship.
&
Cons
- Modest 84 dB sensitivity means a capable amplifier is needed to unlock maximum dynamics and headroom.
- Positioned at a premium price point (~USD 1,699/pair), which reduces relative value compared with lower-cost competitors.
Sound Quality
89/100
Bass
85/100
5.5" (14 cm) MSP woofer in a rear-ported (bass reflex) cabinet with a quoted lower cutoff ~47 Hz. Ported tuning and Dynaudio driver tech imply good extension and controlled output for a small bookshelf; sensitivity is modest (84 dB) so slam depends on amp. Score reflects above-average extension and control for this driver size and ported design without reviewer data claiming extraordinary sub-like bass.
Mid
92/100
14 cm MSP mid/woofer and Dynaudio Cerotar tweeter combination historically yields accurate, well-textured mids and natural timbre. The spec sheet (driver materials and 2-way crossover at 1.4 kHz) supports strong vocal presence and tonal neutrality; score assumes Dynaudio's usual midrange tuning and craftsmanship.
Treble
90/100
28 mm Cerotar soft-dome tweeter with Hexis suggests refined, extended treble with low harshness and good detail. Upper cutoff ~23 kHz and quality tweeter design imply airy, non-fatiguing highs; modest caution for any on-axis brightness is applied given no listening reports.
Soundstage Imaging
89/100
Compact cabinet plus quality drivers and crossover imply precise imaging and good stereo focus for the form factor. Rear port and cabinet dimensions suggest sensible placement sensitivity; expected to deliver a believable, slightly forward but well-defined soundstage.
Dynamics
86/100
Reasonable macro and micro dynamics expected given Dynaudio engineering, though 84 dB sensitivity indicates the need for a capable amplifier to fully exploit transient punch and headroom. Score balances good driver control with modest sensitivity/headroom constraints.

Build Quality
92/100
Dynaudio's Evoke series uses high-quality cabinets, finishes and internally matched drivers/crossover; product weight (6.7 kg) and fit/finish expectations support a high craftsmanship score. Expect solid bracing, premium veneer/paint options and careful crossover parts selection.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive bookshelf speaker with standard single-post binding posts. Per passive baseline rules, a fixed 80 applied; no penalty for absence of DSP/streaming on a passive product.
Value for Money
77/100
Priced at ~USD 1,699 (pair), the Evoke 10 competes in a premium bookshelf segment. Strong sound, build and tuning justify much of the premium but the high price versus more affordable competitors reduces overall value score absent explicit 'best at this price' consensus.
