The heart of the Vivaldi system, the APEX DAC utilises our Ring DAC APEX hardware to deliver sound with astonishing fidelity, whilst reducing noise and distortion to vanishing levels 

UPSAMPLER

A combined Digital-to-Digital converter, upsampler, and streamer, this multi-functional component provides access to audio from a range of sources, including streaming services, storage drives and external devices, and converts audio from its native sample rate to high-resolution DSD, DXD or PCM.

MASTER CLOCK

Informed by our pioneering developments in studios and home audio, our Grade 1 master clock generates a precise reference signal that keeps the Vivaldi system running perfectly in sync for optimal performance

TRANSPORT II

Our Mark 2 Transport ensures Vivaldi listeners experience the finest sound from their silver discs. It combines proven dCS technologies with a dual wavelength laser mechanism in a meticulously crafted aluminium chassis, for optimal performance and stability

PIONEERING DESIGN

With Vivaldi, we reimagined our core technologies - including our Ring DAC™ system, clocking architecture and the dCS Digital Processing Platform – developing a new DNA that brought new standards in sonic fidelity. We also introduced a wealth of new features to support digital streaming, bringing owners more ways to listen, and access to a broader range of music than ever before. It remains one of the most ambitious and advanced dCS playback systems to date – the culmination of several years’ work and exhaustive development. Our efforts were recognised following the Vivaldi’s release with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise – Innovation, the highest honour available to UK businesses.

FLEXIBLE ARCHITECTURE

Vivaldi utilises a flexible, modular framework that provides almost unlimited potential for upgrades – reflecting our focus on continued product development. Over the years, we have delivered major hardware and software updates to Vivaldi owners. These include 2.0, an update to the Ring DAC’s mapping algorithm, and the Ring DAC APEX, a major hardware upgrade for the dCS Ring DAC, informed by our work on the dCS Varèse music system. DESIGNED, TESTED & ASSEMBLED IN THE UK

All dCS products are designed, hand-assembled and tested at our Cambridgeshire headquarters. We use custom-built test equipment to check performance across all possible configurations, and conduct numerous inspections to ensure products are built to the highest standards. Performance is our number one focus and this informs each design decision we make – from the choice of materials, to the layout of internal components. Beyond this, we strive to create products that are built to last, and have a timeless appeal.
