Wood Fibre Cones

Our low-loss drivers combine low-mass paper cones with wood fibre for an uneven surface that eliminates resonance and reveals every detail.

Amplifier Friendly

The amplifier-friendly design makes it a perfect fit for almost any stereo amplifier or surround receiver in its price category.

Soft Dome Tweeter

The ultra lightweight, weaved fabric dome tweeter offers best-in-class resolution with extended frequency response, wide dispersion and low colouration.

Low Signal Loss

The custom DALI drivers eliminate the need for crossover frequency correction for close-to-zero signal loss.

COMPACT SPEAKER

Bass beyond it's size

The DALI SPEKTOR 2 might be a compact speaker but the larger inner volume than its smaller sibling, the SPEKTOR 1, delivers an extra level of bass performance. The SPEKTOR 2 is ideal for mounting on a shelf, wall or stand and combines well with any compact Hi-Fi music system. It also functions as a surround speaker in a home cinema setup for added movie-watching immersion. Like all DALI loudspeakers, the SPEKTOR 2 has been designed in accordance with our fundamental acoustic and electro-acoustic principles, and a strong belief that clarity and an authentic, honest sound reproduction will get you even closer to a live music experience.

WIDE DISPERSION

Easy integration in any room

We make it easy to integrate the SPEKTOR 2 into any room. The driver materials and geometry we use are purpose-designed to achieve a wide dispersion pattern. By dispersing the sound around a room more widely, what you hear has more coherent balance, consistency and quality – even off-axis. Wide dispersion also gives you more flexibility when it comes to positioning the SPEKTOR 2.

TWEETER

Rendering high frequencies with accuracy

Made from ultra-lightweight woven fabric, the SPEKTOR 2 dome tweeter renders high frequencies with exceptional accuracy. Compared with most other soft dome tweeters, our dome material is less than half the weight (0.056 mg per mm2). The tweeter's impressive ability to reproduce even the lowest parts of the high-frequency range without any breakup means that every detail in the midrange frequencies is retained, even during the critical handover between the tweeter and woofer.

WOOFER

Optimised for integration & performance

The SPEKTOR 2 has a 5¼" woofer for increased overall sound pressure levels, which helps it shine in larger rooms that still require a compact speaker. Details such as the angle of our signature DALI wood fibre cone and the size of the dust cap have been optimised for the best possible integration, dispersion and performance. The cone membrane – a mix of fine-grain paper and wood fibre pulp – also makes the woofer extremely rigid and lightweight, while the uneven structure helps minimise unwanted surface resonances.

LOW LOSS

Smooth, seamless audio

The function of any loudspeaker is to convert the electrical signal from an amplifier into a realistic audio experience for the listener, while minimising losses in the signal. The clarity of sound you'll experience from the SPEKTOR series is the result of our commitment to producing low-loss speakers with smooth and seamless sound reproduction in both the time and frequency domain. By using only DALI designed, custom built drivers and crossovers made from quality components, DALI SPEKTOR speakers achieve a signal loss close to zero.

Overall Score 89/100

Rating for [object Object]

Nicely Roasted

DALI SPEKTOR 2 delivers an unexpectedly large, cinematic sound from compact stands, with a deep soundstage, tight, punchy bass and a fast response that keeps transients lively. Reviewers from HomeTheaterHifi and What Hi‑Fi? note detailed treble and overall remarkable linearity, making these speakers a musically engaging value.

HomeTheaterHifi

"By applying science, measurements, and extensive listening, DALI has made a budget speaker that doesn’t sound like a budget speaker."

Pros

  • Expansive, precise imaging with a deep, wide soundstage that makes the speakers sound bigger than their size.
  • Punchy, controlled bass and lively dynamics — fast low-mass driver response and convincing impact around 60Hz.
  • Solid cabinet construction with low resonances and an attractive finish, yielding clean, unstressed playback at higher levels.

&

Cons

  • Modest sensitivity (~84.5dB) means they benefit from a more powerful or 'muscular' amplifier to unlock peak dynamics.

Sound Quality

90/100

Bass

88/100

5.25" woofer delivers punchy, controlled low end for a small bookshelf. Review cites 'hit you in the chest' bass around 60Hz and 'deep and full' presentation; woofer construction (embedded wood fibers) and good cabinet control support extension and low distortion.

Mid

90/100

Remarkable linearity and musical, warm tonality reported — 'piano compelling in its accuracy and power.' Vocals sit slightly back in the mix per review, but midrange timbre, clarity and body are strong and natural.

Treble

89/100

25mm soft dome tweeter described as linear and detail-enhancing without harshness; reviewer notes increased detail and distortion-free gunfire, indicating refined, non-fatiguing highs.

Soundstage Imaging

91/100

Consistently praised as sounding larger than it looks with a 'deep and wide' soundstage and 'excellent imaging.' Wide-dispersion design (no toe-in) contributes to expansive, stable imaging though vocals are sometimes presented slightly behind instruments.

Dynamics

90/100

Fast low-mass woofer and strong macro-dynamic performance: reviewer cites 'fast response' and 'exceptional macro-dynamics' when paired with a compact sub, yielding convincing impact and weight.

Build Quality

92/100

Well-built, 'sturdy cabinet' with driver engineering (wood-fiber embedding) to reduce resonances; reviewer reports cabinet resonances are not noticeable even at high levels, indicating good construction and damping.

Features Connectivity

80/100

Passive bookshelf baseline applied (single-post passive speaker). No bi-wire/bi-amp terminals or special connectivity features reported.

Value for Money

86/100

Reviewer calls them an 'astonishing value' at the quoted $400/pair, praising 'large slice of high-end sound for a bargain.' Product metadata lists price at $750; if priced higher the value diminishes, hence a strong-but-not-topscore value rating.
