Rating for EPICON 6

Deliciously Crispy

Sound Quality

93/100

Build Quality

94/100

Value for Money

88/100

The Dali EPICON 6 combines taut, punchy bass with a richly open soundstage, marrying explosive dynamics to a controlled, detailed midrange. Its hybrid tweeter array brings airy transparency and precise imaging, while the lavishly finished, inert cabinet looks as accomplished as it sounds. StereoNET United Kingdom found it especially revealing, expressive and composed under pressure.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"This speaker serves up serious slam, whilst showing true grace under pressure."

— StereoNET United Kingdom

"Frequency range: 35Hz to 30kHz"

— The Absolute Sound

Pros

Deep, fast and tightly controlled bass delivers punch, enthusiasm and convincing transient precision.

Expansive soundstage and hybrid tweeter system provide airy transparency, detail and imaging beyond the cabinets.

Detailed, neutral midrange remains controlled at volume, with strong dynamics and expressive musical delivery.

Exceptionally rigid, beautifully finished real-wood cabinet reflects premium construction.

&

Cons

Premium pricing makes it a significant investment.

Highly revealing balance does not flatter lean or flat recordings, and benefits from high-quality partnering equipment.

Treble has a slightly illuminated character, although the reviewer did not find it harsh.

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 93/100

The EPICON 6 is described as an accurate, highly revealing floorstander with a notably open, spacious presentation. Review listening highlights controlled and energetic bass, an even-handed midband, airy high frequencies, expansive imaging, and the ability to combine speed with substantial slam.

Bass

93/100

StereoNET found the bass deep, punchy, fast and enthusiastic, with particularly convincing kick-drum impact. There is a touch of added bass energy, but the reviewer considered it likely to be welcome rather than excessive.

Mid

92/100

The midband is described as detailed, nuanced and consistently controlled. Vocals and instruments were reported to arrive in a smooth, cohesive balance, while the speaker was praised for not flattering lean or flat recordings.

Treble

91/100

The hybrid tweeter arrangement brings considerable air, transparency and detail, with the ribbon making a clearly audible contribution to openness. Treble is described as slightly well lit, though explicitly not harsh.

Soundstage Imaging

93/100

Soundstaging is presented as a major strength, producing spaciousness beyond the physical speaker positions. StereoNET noted images and effects extending at least half a metre beyond either cabinet, while removing the ribbon output noticeably reduced stage scale and transparency.

Dynamics

94/100

Review listening found the EPICON 6 notably quick and expressive, with strong transient response. It is said to deliver serious slam while retaining composure and grace under demanding conditions.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Build Quality

94/100

StereoNET describes the cabinet as both visually beautiful and exceptionally solid, with substantial internal reinforcement giving it a tank-like feel. Real-wood veneer, extensive lacquering and hand polishing reinforce its premium execution, while the supplied base plate, spikes and substantial binding posts complete a carefully finished package.

Value for Money

88/100

At roughly $13,495-$13,995 in the US, and listed up to 16,000 in the supplied pricing, the EPICON 6 is firmly a premium purchase. StereoNET nevertheless judged it to be good value rather than poor value despite the high asking price, supported by its luxurious finish and accomplished performance.
