Dali EPICON 6
Patented SMC
Our patented Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC) is the heart of the magnet motor system, minimising coloration and distortion.
In-House Woofers
The latest generation of wood fibre based woofers are developed and manufactured at our production facilities in Denmark.
Multilayer Laminate
6 layers of MDF form a rigid construction that reduces cabinet resonances, while the rounded form practically eliminates standing waves.
Hybrid Tweeter
Optimised for the EPICON series, featuring an extremely smooth and wide horizontal dispersion.
A LASTING IMPRESSION
Redefining loudspeaker conventions
Allow sensational musical moments to live on in the comfort of your own home with the revolutionary EPICON 6. Designed to make a lasting impression, the exterior of the loudspeaker is as captivating to the eye as the sound is to the ear. Featuring two 6½" patented SMC bass drivers, the unique Linear Drive Magnet System as well as our signature planar/soft dome hybrid tweeter, the EPICON 6 breaks with traditional loudspeaker conventions.
PATENTED SMC
Reducing distortion for superior sound
For years, designing magnet systems has been a DALI speciality. For the EPICON 6, we decided to challenge the highest performance standards and to take magnet system design further than ever before. The answer was Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC) material, which combines extremely high magnetic conductivity and very low electrical conductivity to deliver a dramatic reduction in distortion caused by mechanical loss in the magnet system.
DALI HYBRID TWEETER
The master of wide dispersion
The DALI hybrid tweeter module features a soft dome tweeter and a planar tweeter that combine to create an amazing rendition of high-frequency details. The voice-coil used in the EPICON 6 soft dome is extremely light and agile, which helps it deliver a broader bandwidth. The planar tweeter is the master of wide dispersion and, in combination with the soft dome, reaches as low as 2.5 kHz, providing continuous wide dispersion as the soft dome becomes more directional at higher frequencies. This extreme bandwidth and ultra-wide dispersion is an important part of DALI's sound philosophy.
WOOD FIBRE WOOFERS
Manufactured at DALI facility in Denmark
At DALI, we believe in designs based on low mechanical loss, and we were among the first to master the control of frequency response through carefully balanced design. Designs such as our wood fibre cone with its light, rigid and randomly uneven structure that reproduces the finest details and dynamics in the music with very low loss of information.
CABINET DESIGN
Blending elegant design & functionality
The EPICON 6 is a showcase of beautiful design with curved lines and a real-wood veneer finished with 10 layers of lacquer, each hand polished to a deep gloss. But the cabinet is also functional. With no parallel surfaces, unwanted reflections are practically eliminated, while the rigid construction provides a solid platform and an acoustically tuned 'spring' for the drivers, which helps to eliminate resonant energy. Separate chambers inside the cabinet also allow each woofer to be individually tuned to perfection, and bass ports located directly behind each woofer minimise turbulence and deliver exceptional timing.

The Epicon 6 delivers an expansive, precisely layered soundstage that places instruments well beyond the speakers, led by a fast, authoritative low end with tight punch and a revealing, non-editorialising accurate midrange. Its hybrid tweeter adds airy extension and detail, and Mark Gusew and Robert E. Greene note the premium build and refined dynamics.
Pros
- Expansive, precisely layered soundstage with strong lateral placement and depth.
- Tight, fast, well-controlled bass that delivers punch and authoritative low-end impact.
- Accurate, non-editorial midrange that reveals source detail and keeps vocals natural.
&
Cons
- Treble is a touch 'well lit'—airy and detailed but potentially bright for sensitive listeners.
- Premium price, hefty size and modest 88 dB sensitivity/5 Ω nominal impedance mean it benefits from a robust amplifier and limits accessibility.

Bass
93/100
Reviewers note deep, punchy, well-controlled low end with tight kick-drum punch and a touch of added energy. With dual 6½-inch woofers and a 35 Hz (-3 dB) response, the Epicon 6 delivers authoritative mid-tower bass that is fast and well-damped, supporting the ceiling of the mid-tower band.
Mid
94/100
The midband is repeatedly described as accurate, detailed and non-editorialising; vocals and guitars were rendered naturally and coherently. Reviewers emphasise nuanced, controlled mids that reveal source detail without colouring, supporting high-fidelity performance.
Treble
92/100
The hybrid tweeter (soft dome + ribbon super-tweeter) imparts air, extension beyond 30 kHz and transparency; reviewers note a slightly 'well lit' presentation but not harsh. The super-tweeter meaningfully contributes to detail and top-end openness, while remaining controlled.
Soundstage Imaging
95/100
Soundstaging and imaging are standout strengths: spacious presentation, excellent depth and precise lateral placement (drums imaged a half-metre beyond each speaker). Reviewers report a wide, layered soundstage with strong focus and stability.
Dynamics
94/100
Multiple comments highlight transient speed, slam and expressiveness; the speaker shows both micro- and macro-dynamic authority. Reviewers praised its ability to deliver impactful, controlled dynamics while remaining graceful at higher levels.

Build Quality
95/100
The Epicon 6 is described as a premium, tank-like cabinet with extensive internal bracing and ten-layer lacquer finishes; finishes include Walnut and Ruby Macassar options. Reviewers emphasise solid engineering, high-quality veneers, and careful construction.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive baseline applied. Reviewer notes two pairs of chunky binding posts (locking nuts) and a metallic terminal link, plus rear ports and supplied base plate/spikes; bi-wire/bi-amp capability and accessories present but feature scoring capped to passive baseline per rules.
Value for Money
84/100
Price is high, but the review explicitly calls it expensive yet not poor value, stating performance justifies the cost. Given premium build and high performance, it represents strong value for buyers seeking top-tier tonal accuracy and refinement, though price limits broader accessibility.
