Chario Constellation Lynx
2 ways BOOKSHELf
The smallest bookshelf in the series, but expandable up to 67Hz. With a load volume of 1000cc, the Lynx will outperform many other larger and more expensive speakers. The Lynx is consistently regarded as better than its competitors in terms of sound production, fidelity and musicality.
The dynamics exceed most of the limitations of the standard bookshelf and are balanced and nuanced.
The customized rubber feet on the bottom of the cabinet structure helps to minimize vibrations by calibrating the surface-to-speaker distance to maximize the effectiveness of the low-frequency reflection system.
RIGIDITY and STRUCTURE.
The central part of the body is made of a resin and wood fiber material called HDF (High Density Fiberboard). Its mass and rigidity ensure the lowest vibration levels achievable with materials made from wood fibers.
The side panels are made from solid wood.
This structure guarantees the necessary rigidity for vibration damping.
The stand is designed to place the speaker at ear level for optimal listening.
"PURE SOUND,
ANYWHERE AT HOME".
THIS IS HOW WE THOUGHT ABOUT THE CONSTELLATION SERIES
This loudspeaker has been carefully engineered to deliver high-level sound performance even in untreated domestic environments, where acoustic qualities are often compromised by elements such as furniture, reflective surfaces, and irregular room layouts. Thanks to the meticulous design of the system and the use of high-quality components, the speaker ensures accurate, balanced, and immersive sound reproduction even under less-than-ideal conditions.
For optimal results, it is recommended to place the speaker in a listening environment with a surface area between 6 and 14 square meters. This size range represents the ideal balance between acoustic reflection management and sound propagation, allowing the loudspeaker to fully express its dynamics, detail, and spatial imaging. In rooms of this size, listeners will be able to fully appreciate the tonal precision and the depth of the soundstage, without the sound becoming overly dispersed or compressed.

The Constellation Lynx delivers a beautifully rich, clean natural midrange with precise imaging and deep layering, while a 38mm soft‑dome tweeter supplies energetic, detailed highs. Its handcrafted solid‑walnut cabinet and luxurious finish reflect exceptional build quality. What Hi‑Fi? highlights the speaker's balance and strong value for smaller rooms and nearfield listening.
Pros
- Very clean, natural midrange with rich warmth and spectral accuracy, making vocals and acoustic instruments immediately identifiable.
- Excellent imaging and deep layering that deliver convincing depth and instrument placement for nearfield/listening-room setups.
- High-quality construction and finish — solid walnut side panels and luxury cabinetry underline premium build quality.
- Strong value proposition: striking design and sound quality are noted as offering excellent value within its category.
&
Cons
- Limited deep bass extension for larger rooms — a subwoofer is recommended to reach fuller low‑end response.
- Moderate sensitivity and a low-ish impedance profile mean these speakers can be demanding; pair with a capable amplifier.
- Best suited to smaller rooms (recommended by the reviewer) — may struggle to fill large listening spaces at high SPLs.
Sound Quality
88/100
Bass
86/100
130 mm woofer in a vented enclosure with a -3 dB low cut at 67 Hz and port tuning around 56 Hz. Reviewers repeatedly note you shouldn't expect deep bass but praise its extension and articulation for the speaker's size; subwoofer recommended for deep extension.
Mid
92/100
Multiple comments describe a very clean, natural midrange with rich warmth and strong spectral accuracy (e.g., voices immediately identifiable). Review highlights speed, precision and exceptional midband presence.
Treble
87/100
38 mm soft-dome tweeter with waveguide; reviewers praise energetic treble ('tremendous élan') but note a slightly elevated/forward high-frequency response and a small perceived high-frequency lift.
Soundstage Imaging
90/100
Layering and depth are repeatedly praised ('layering... unmatched', 'extends deep front to back'), though the soundstage is described as not especially wide. Imaging focus and depth are strong.
Dynamics
84/100
Good midband dynamics and clarity; limited low-end headroom and moderate sensitivity (~86–87 dB) constrain maximum SPL. Review notes ~95 dB at 4 m before unpleasantness and recommends a sub to relieve woofer demands.

Build Quality
94/100
Luxury construction: solid walnut side panels (not veneered MDF), HDF cabinet, premium finish and measured lab validation. Review calls the cabinetry 'a lesson in luxury' and 'well-built, well-designed.'
Features Connectivity
81/100
Passive single-pair binding posts baseline (80) with included spikes or rubber feet (+1). Rear-firing/bottom-firing port and gold-plated multi-way connectors (banana/spade/bare) present. Passive-category bounds applied.
Value for Money
91/100
At the listed price (~2,175) reviewers call the combination of striking style, build and sound 'excellent value' and say the price was 'much lower than I’d imagined,' supporting a strong value rating against peers in the hi‑fi space.
