Campfire Audio Solaris 'Stellar Horizon'

The low end is described as full, controlled and organic, with moderate emphasis around the mid-bass rather than exaggerated slam. HomeTheaterHifi found it extremely well balanced, though less physically present than some large over-ear headphones.

MajorHifi calls the midrange natural, accurate and central to the overall balance, with vocals and instruments sounding as they should. The presentation carries some added warmth and density without reviewers reporting major coloration or vocal problems.

Treble receives strong praise for its clarity, energy and fine detail, with HomeTheaterHifi describing the highs as exceptionally detailed. It is characterized as cool and shiny rather than warm or especially airy, and MajorHifi notes that upper-treble extension rolls off a little early.

Detail and separation are repeatedly standout traits. HomeTheaterHifi calls the detail level off the charts, while Audiophilepure says the Solaris exposes the upstream gear with unusual directness; MajorHifi likewise hears excellent clarity and separation from an already clean balance.

The spatial presentation is a defining strength. MajorHifi hears a stage that is wide, tall and especially deep, with elements occupying highly specific positions, while HomeTheaterHifi similarly describes a deep, flowing and lifelike stage.

Reviewers find the Solaris immersive and coherent enough to resemble a high-end headphone experience, with a firm, focused low end supporting the natural mids. Direct discussion of macro- and microdynamic behavior is limited, however, so there is less evidence of exceptional dynamic contrast than there is of its staging and resolution.

A proper seal is clearly essential to the Solaris Stellar Horizon's performance. HomeTheaterHifi reports hollow highs and vanishing bass without firmly seated tips, while Audiophilepure also urges owners to spend time finding the right tips.

MajorHifi had no problem inserting the Solaris and found it comfortable once in place. The included foam Marshmallow tips were singled out as particularly pleasing, though individual ear anatomy will still determine the best fit.

The reviews provide little direct comparison of passive isolation in daily environments. Its potential for a deep insertion suggests a usable in-ear fit, but reviewers do not establish how much outside noise it blocks.

The stainless-steel housing and nozzle are complemented by premium-looking finishing; HomeTheaterHifi calls the construction superb and describes the earpieces as artwork. The package is notably practical, including three MMCX cables with 2.5mm, 3.5mm and 4.4mm terminations, silicone and foam tips, cleaning tool, pouches and a magnetic leather case, although one review would have preferred an even more protective hard case.

At $2,670, this is an unapologetically premium IEM, but the available reviewers regard its performance as commensurate with the asking price. HomeTheaterHifi calls it a stunning value for a compact high-end system, and Audiophilepure explicitly says it is worth it.
