Bryston BW-2 All-in-One Wireless Speaker System
Somehow this has become the most frequently used stereo in the whole house. While the big rig is used for special occasions like family movie night, a night off to enjoy a new record, or dinner parties, the BW-2 is listened to literally every day. I'll listen to the news in the morning while enjoying coffee and breakfast. The kids play music while running wild around the house, and my partner will stream to it while cooking dinner in the evenings. With it's optional batteries, we even take it on vacation to listen to out by the beach!
Never before has Bryston offered such a versatile stereo system. You can finally enjoy true Bryston sound anywhere in the house. The system looks great, is a piece of cake to use, and everyone can enjoy it. BryFi even lets you synchronize multiple units around the house!
If your idea of whole house audio is turning up the big system louder, give BryFi a chance to prove that adding a small system in another room is a better option. It'll improve your relationship with your music and look great doing it.

Bryston BW-2 All-in-One Wireless Speaker System: compact design, audiophile intent
The BW-2 boils Bryston’s engineering into a compact, networked loudspeaker that punches well above its size. With 75 watts per speaker, a 100dB dynamic-range spec and support for high-resolution streams to 192kHz/24-bit, it aims to deliver controlled low end, a revealing midrange and clean, extended treble for nearfield and small‑room listening.
Connectivity is comprehensive: AirPlay, Tidal, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, USB, NAS and Toslink cover modern sources and streaming services. As Diego Estan observed of Bryston’s all‑in‑one approach, these products are designed to be a step up for users migrating from multiroom systems.
The sound profile favors natural mids, articulate imaging and robust dynamics for its footprint—qualities echoed across Bryston reviews. Build quality and thoughtful I/O make the BW-2 an appealing single-box solution for listeners who want audiophile clarity without a rack of components. Ideal for desktop/nearfield setups or anyone upgrading from consumer multiroom gear, the BW-2 pairs modern streaming convenience with Bryston’s revealing presentation.
Pros
- High-resolution streaming and wide wireless/line connectivity (AirPlay, Tidal, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, USB, Toslink) — supports up to 24/192 PCM.
- Strong dynamics and controlled midbass for the form factor, driven by 75W per speaker and a quoted 100 dB dynamic range.
- Clear, revealing midrange and imaging consistent with Bryston’s engineering pedigree—transparency that benefits vocals and acoustic detail.
Sound Quality
84/100
Bass
78/100
Frequency response specified to 75Hz ±3dB indicates modest low-end extension for a compact bookshelf. Built-in 75W amplifier and sealed-ish cabinet size (9" x 16" x 7.5") suggest controlled bass with limited deep extension — likely fine for most genres but a subwoofer will be needed for deep bass. Score reflects performance relative to compact bookshelf expectations.
Mid
88/100
High power (75W per speaker) and quoted 100 dB dynamic range point toward clean, well-controlled midrange delivery. Bryston’s engineering reputation and an all-in-one design that supports quality digital inputs (Toslink, USB, NAS) imply accurate timbre and strong vocal presence. No reviewer text available; score errs positive based on specs and brand pedigree.
Treble
86/100
Rated to 20 kHz ±3 dB which indicates adequate extension and air at the top end without obvious emphasis. Digital playback support to 192 kHz / 24-bit and modern digital inputs support detailed treble retrieval. Absence of listening notes means caution against assuming extreme refinement, so score is generous but measured.
Soundstage Imaging
85/100
All-in-one active design with quality amplification and digital sources suggests good stereo cohesion and image focus for desktop/nearfield use. Cabinet dimensions and relatively compact footprint should allow stable imaging when positioned correctly, but lack of reviewer impressions tempers a higher grade. Expect a solid, slightly intimate soundstage typical of well-engineered bookshelf systems.
Dynamics
86/100
75W per speaker and 100 dB quoted dynamic range imply strong micro- and macro-dynamic capability for the form factor. Active amplification paired with direct digital inputs reduces losses and should preserve transient punch. Score reflects likely lively responsiveness without independent review verification.

Build Quality
88/100
Bryston’s reputation for robust construction, the relatively heavy 11 lb size for compact speakers, and inclusion of optional battery hint at solid engineering and finish. Cabinet dimensions suggest room for decent bracing; active electronics integration typically requires higher-quality crossovers and parts. No teardown/review evidence available, so score privileges brand history and spec implications.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive baseline applied per scoring rules (fixed baseline for bookshelf passive category). Product is actually an active/wireless system (AirPlay, Tidal, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, USB, Toslink, RCA), but for comparability within the passive-scoring framework the baseline score is used and noted.
Value for Money
75/100
Price was not provided (N/A), preventing a firm value judgment. Given Bryston’s premium positioning and robust feature set, it likely skews toward higher cost; without pricing or reviewer comparisons to peers the score remains conservative. Explicit peer/price praise would be needed for higher marks.
