High-end technology and thoughtful construction
The technical equipment of the A 6.2 Master Edition sets new standards in amplifier technology. The amplifier features a new ultra-silent transformer with 1000 VA, which in combination with the AVM power bank capacitors ensures a stable power supply and an exceptional sound quality. Four independent power supplies provide all circuits and effectively eliminate mutual influences. The volume is fully balanced in 256 control steps, ensuring extremely precise control with less than 0.05 dB channel deviation. The newly developed Class-A headphone amplifier also offers excellent sound quality for lovers of personal listening pleasure. The use of gold-plated pure copper tracks and the single-ended architecture in the power amplifiers further contribute to the excellent sound performance of the A 6.2 ME. All circuit boards are hand-assembled at the AVM factory, which highlights the high quality and reliability of this amplifier.
Versatile connections and sleek design
The Ovation A 6.2 Master Edition is not just a technological masterpiece, but also an eye-catcher. The high-quality aluminium case is sturdy and simultaneously acts as a passive cooling system, offering optimal heat dissipation. The amplifier is available in the standard colours of aluminium black or silver, as well as an elegant CELLINI version with a chrome front. The A 6.2 ME comes in a fitting AVM Flight Case, which not only ensures safe delivery, but also underlines the high-quality character of the device. On the connection side, the amplifier offers two XLR and five RCA inputs, as well as pre-amplifier outputs in XLR and RCA, allowing for flexible integration into any system. HDMI ARC and a Home Theatre Pass Through allow for seamless integration into modern home theater setups. The RC 3 all-metal remote control offers comfortable operation, while extensive menu functions, such as adjustable input sensitivity and individual input naming, provide additional flexibility.

Cons

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 94/100
Reviewers consistently describe the AVM as highly detailed, smooth, and very close to neutral, with a presentation that feels complete rather than spotlighted. They also praise its low noise floor, refined bass, extended treble, and a musical flow that keeps long sessions engaging.
Transparency Resolution
96/100
Reviewers repeatedly emphasize the amount of information it reveals, with comments about 'more detail,' missing information being restored, and a noise floor that drops a little lower. The presentation is described as smooth yet detailed, with nothing sounding hidden or veiled.
Tonal Balance Musicality
94/100
The tonal balance is described as very close to neutral, with a realistic yet lush midrange and overall warmth that still avoids fatigue. Reviewers also talk about the sound being 'musically right and complete,' which suggests strong naturalness and easy long-term listenability.
Dynamics
94/100
Reviewers call it powerful and controlled, with tight low bass and the sense that it has full control and leaves no information behind. There is no sign of strain or compression in the comments, and the amplifier is repeatedly framed as a serious powerhouse.
Soundstage Imaging
94/100
The staging is described in vivid spatial terms, including a convincingly placed soloist and loudspeakers coupling to the room in the right way. Reviewers suggest strong placement, depth, and a coherent sense of being in the performance rather than merely hearing it.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
92/100
Reviewers praise the heavy aluminum chassis, the included all-aluminum remote, and the fact that it arrives in AVM's standard flight case. They also note that the Master Edition borrows heavily from the larger models with identical parts, which supports a very solid impression of construction and fit-and-finish.
Features Connectivity
90/100
This is a well-equipped integrated amp with a headphone output, remote control, graphic display, and easy setup and operation. Reviewers specifically mention the headphone amp as unusually good, and the only clear complaint raised is the absence of a mute button on the remote.
Value for Money
89/100
Reviewers frame the Master Edition as a lower-priced version of the original A 6.2 and call it a 'friendship price' and a 'sensational price' for what it offers. The language suggests that, against similarly ambitious high-end integrated amplifiers, it is presented as a compelling buy rather than an obviously expensive indulgence.
