Audiovector R Sub
A POWERFUL EXPERIENCE WITH SPEED AND ATTACK
The R Sub Arreté gives your audio system immediate and significant improvements. It helps open the midrange, almost as if the system is having to do less work. A long throw driver, a rounded high-quality cabinet, powerful amplification and a downward firing passive radiator; our subwoofer delivers a fast, musical performance without stealing the attention from the loudspeakers they support. We recommend our subwoofers for both music and movies. High level Speakon sub cable included 1 x 5 m.

The R Sub delivers exceptionally musical, tuneful low end that tightens and extends the system’s bottom octave, giving mains a more solid midrange and wider soundstage. Reviewers praise its controlled bass, seamless integration with speakers and notably quick dynamics. Both hi-fi+ and Audiophilepure note its rhythmic engagement and cohesion.
Pros
- Musical, well-controlled bass that tightens midrange and expands the soundstage.
- Fast, rhythmically engaging dynamics that keep pace with quick speakers and improve timing.
- High-quality engineering — carbon-fibre long-throw drivers and a 400W Class AB amplifier deliver robust build and refined performance.

Cons
- Premium pricing (around £2,225) positions it beyond many buyers.
- Feature set is focused rather than modern — lacks app-based DSP or wireless tuning found on some contemporary subs.

Bass
91/100
Reviews describe the R Sub as filling in bass, getting speakers to sing 'far deeper, broader and sweeter' and making bass lines 'walk more succinctly' (hi-fi+). Specs (18 Hz variable, dual 10" long-throw drivers, passive radiator, 400W Class AB) support strong low-end extension and control; reviewers emphasise musical, well-controlled bass rather than sheer output.
Dynamics
92/100
Reviewed as fast and rhythmically engaging: hi-fi+ notes 'quick reactions,' that it keeps up with fast-moving mid/treble units and that only the very fastest speakers outpaced it. Reviewers report improved tempo and transient drive when the sub is in the system.

Integration
94/100
Multiple reviewers describe outcome-level integration: hi-fi+ says the sub 'disappears sonically' and that removing it makes 'the sound collapse back to its pre-subbed space.' The R Sub is credited with tightening the midrange and improving treble/mid integration, producing a seamless blend with mains when set up.
Build Quality
90/100
Well-specified hardware: carbon-fibre, long-throw drivers, cryo-treated components and a 400W Class AB amplifier (hi-fi+). The construction and parts list suggest high-quality engineering and attention to detail consistent with its premium positioning.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive baseline applied. Feature set is functional and focused: line/phono input and high-level Speakon, +/-180° phase, Audiovector 'Freedom Grounding' chassis grounding. Lacks modern app-based DSP or wireless features, so usability is straightforward but not feature-rich.
Value for Money
83/100
Priced at ~£2,225 and positioned as a premium music sub; reviewers call it highly effective and note many owners will buy it, but they stop short of 'best in class' or 'no-brainer.' Language such as 'Audition at your wallet's peril!' implies strong performance for the price but not undisputed bargain status.
