It is delivered with a standard “oak” color and veneer style.

As a custom order, the side panels can be made with different colors or veneer to
match the customers’ loudspeaker style.

With the AGD SOLO, we have extended the use of the latest generation power semiconductors, GaN MOSFET up to a new level of overall sonic performances.

Thanks to the new GaNSound module improved components, enhanced thermal management, and a new optimized layout, we achieved our target to operate this much larger power stage at 800 kHz, for the utmost outstanding sonic and musical performances. 

Also, with the AGD SOLO we have retained the key fundamental feature of upgradable GaNSound power module.

This is a key feature AGD has maintained with all amplifier designs, from the Audion to the Gran Vivace, the Tempo, and now the SOLO.

At AGD, we firmly believe the customers have the right to maintain the value of their investment; therefore, we enable upgrading the GaN output stage module when a new GaN MOSFET device delivers performance and technological improvement.

The GaN technology in power semiconductors is only ten years old versus 60 years of silicon technology evolution.

New improved GaN MOSFETs will, therefore, deliver augmented sonic performances using an upgraded module in the form of a new GaNTube or, like in the DUET and TEMPO and now the AGD SOLO, via a dedicated daughter board, easy to plug-in.

The AGD SOLO new main board is a 4 layers PCB designed with the utmost attention to minimize the noise and limit the parasitics with an optimal control of the layout.

With extra large and thick copper traces (2 oz), the new board presents a perfect ultra-low resistive path for high current flow and minimized stray inductance, allowing unprecedented rise and fall times.

The AGD SOLO main board is designed to accommodate an additional capacitor bank (on top of the one housed on the power supply circuit) up to ~200,000 µF, a key feature to support the most dynamic current demand of the most difficult loads.

Moreover, the AGDGaNSound Module is easily removable for future upgrades and has an additional copper heat-spreader to maintain the most stable and safe temperature during operation.

The AGD SOLO features a linear power supply with two SMART bridge rectification stages to minimize the conduction losses and virtually eliminate the reverse recovery losses. 

The power supply section is characterized by an oversized 700 VA ultra-low noise toroidal transformer, completely encapsulated in resin inside a dedicated enclosure; the construction is virtually noise and vibration-free.

The total bulk capacitor bank of ~200,000 µF makes available a surplus of dynamic power with unprecedented peak current capability for the most extended time.

The key features of the AGD SOLO Cabinet are the two solid wood side panels, with a surface finished to match 100% the Ocean Way Sausalito MKii finishing (making the perfect match also for the aesthetical viewpoint)

The front, back, and top panels of the AGD SOLO cabinet are 100% CNC-machined and, along with the wood trims, are intended to deliver the best solidity and compactness for audiophiles who are looking to get superior sound with the most advanced technology. 

The AGD SOLO is available with a standard finishing Black or Silver Anodized, a mirror-polished front panel is optional

Oak or cherry, piano black, and glossy-red wood panel trims are available as options.

The AGD SOLO back panel configuration offers easy access to all connectors and the power entry module with 10A fuse protection.

It has both the single ended (Gold plated) and Balanced inputs connectors. 

The inputs (completely independent) are selectable via a toggle switch.

Two sets of super rugged WBT copper binding posts and a Pro-audio plug-in socket for secure loudspeaker wiring are positioned to easily interconnect large speakers’ cables.

The Mains Input Voltage change is manual, with a 220-110 V switch selector.

The connection for remote trigger input (12 V) completes the back panel configuration.

Each AGD SOLO is delivered in a ruggedized flight case with wheels for easy transportation. The AGD AC power cable, with silver-plated multi-string conductors, is standard (US Plug).
