Acora Acoustics SRC-2
THE CONCEPT
From the beginning, we chose a different path. We asked: what if the cabinet didn’t hold the speaker back, but set it free? That question led us to stone — a material as timeless as music itself. Our precision-crafted stone enclosures eliminate resonance and distortion, allowing every note to emerge with stunning clarity and purity.
Why Stone?
At Acora, performance has always come first. Our pursuit of the most faithful, uncolored reproduction of music led us to take a deep look at a critical — yet often overlooked — factor: cabinet resonance. For decades, wood has been the material of choice for speaker enclosures, used by the vast majority of high-end audio brands. But even with the most advanced construction techniques, we found that wood simply couldn't escape its nature — it always added something to the sound. A subtle coloration. A soft veil over the truth.
We looked further. Aluminum, composites, exotic materials — each with their strengths, but none quite delivering the neutrality and control we demanded. Then we found our answer: natural stone. Stone offered everything we were searching for:
1. Virtually no interaction with the energy from the speaker cones — letting the drivers speak freely.
2. High mass, providing rock-solid stability, enhancing soundstage depth and stereo focus.
3. Unique, bespoke character — no two pieces are alike, making every speaker truly one of a kind.
4. Timeless aesthetic that brings elegance into any home.
It wasn’t the easy path, but it was the right one. Because when the enclosure disappears, all that’s left is the music.
THE CABINET
At Acora, we craft our enclosures from precision-machined natural stone, chosen for its rigidity, mass, and acoustic inertness. These properties allow our speakers to deliver music with exceptional clarity, focus, and emotional depth.
Every cabinet is shaped with meticulous care, resulting in a structure that performs flawlessly and showcases a distinct, timeless beauty. No two are alike — each one is a unique expression of natural elegance. This is where form meets function — and where the music truly comes to life.
DRIVERS
The SRC series is built around a carefully selected and expertly refined driver set, each one modified and perfected by Acora to meet our exacting standards — not just for precision, but for musicality.
The midrange and bass drivers, based on renowned paper cone designs, are individually tuned to deliver natural warmth, dynamic energy, and lifelike tonal balance. Through proprietary adjustments and voicing, we've enhanced their ability to reveal subtle textures and emotional nuance, resulting in a sound that feels effortlessly alive.
In the high frequencies, a beryllium dome tweeter brings sparkling extension, speed, and air, carefully integrated to maintain cohesion and natural flow. Our tuning ensures the treble remains clear and detailed, yet always inviting.
The SRC drivers work in harmony to serve that singular vision: authentic, emotionally engaging sound that draws you in and holds you there.
Tweeter
A carefully selected beryllium dome tweeter, voiced for smooth, extended highs, integrates effortlessly with the system — requiring no resistors in the signal path, preserving clarity, immediacy, and musicality.
Midrange/Woofer
A custom-voiced paper cone woofer delivers natural warmth, fast transients, and deep, articulate bass.Tuned by Acora for tonal balance and dynamic expression, it anchors the music with authority and grace.
Crossover
The SRC crossover is the result of exacting engineering and countless hours of listening. Designed for perfect phase alignment and driver integration, it allows each component to perform at its best — with effortless coherence and dynamic ease. Internally, the layout is optimized for signal purity and mechanical isolation.

Acora Acoustics SRC-2 — Granite‑built clarity with orchestral scale
The Acora SRC-2 pairs a sculptural, 3cm African black granite enclosure with world‑class drivers to deliver a transparent, dynamite‑capable floor‑stander that invites long listening sessions. Reviewers praise its deep, focused low end, an unblurred lower midrange and a refined, revealing top end that uncovers detail without brightness. The result is a wide, stable soundstage and imaging that keep instruments firmly placed even at high levels.
Performance highlights include exceptional dynamics and transient response (bass that reaches into the high 20s Hz and a benign impedance curve), seamless driver integration and high sensitivity that makes the SRC-2 unusually easy to drive for its class. Build and design are literal showstoppers: two 7" sandwich woofers, a 1" Beryllium dome tweeter and a massive, tapered granite cabinet that eliminates internal bracing and preserves acoustic energy.
Ideal for serious listeners and large‑room systems, the SRC-2 rewards careful setup and synergistic electronics—Ken Redmond repeatedly describes being drawn into the music, and Dave McNair notes setup tweaks unlocked better midrange. Overall, the SRC-2 offers near‑reference transparency and a musical, engaging presentation that underpins its value proposition.

Bass
96/100
Dual 7" woofers and a 29Hz-30kHz spec, plus reviewer remarks of "exceptional bass...deep bass response" and 'more than adequate in quantity' support a top-tier bass performance for a large tower. Transient response and lack of blurring cited as strengths.
Mid
95/100
Review praises clear, unblurred lower midrange, minimal distortion, and excellent instrument separation (can distinguish viola vs cello, pick articulation), indicating very high midrange accuracy and coherence through the crossover.
Treble
94/100
1" Scanspeak/Beryllium dome and reviewer comments describing an 'audio microscope' that reveals detail without emphasis point to excellent extension, refinement and low harshness.
Soundstage Imaging
95/100
Reviewer repeatedly cites vast, seamless soundstage, rock‑stable imaging and precise spatial cues even at high levels, indicating excellent width, depth and image stability.
Dynamics
95/100
Reviewer notes a 'virtual absence of dynamic compression', ability to play loud without sounding loud, and uniform dynamic expression—evidence of outstanding micro/macro dynamics and headroom for a passive tower.
