Monitor Audio Expands the Creator Series with the C2L-A Angled In-Ceiling Speaker

Essex, UK – 14^th April 2026: Monitor Audio is proud to announce the launch of the Creator Series In-Ceiling C2L-A architectural speaker. Its range introduction now allows Monitor Audio to offer an angled solution at a more accessible Tier 2 level, bringing greater installation flexibility and performance value where angled options were previously reserved for premium Tier 3 models. 

The C2L-A combines a powerful 9-inch C-CAM bass-mid driver with RST II metal cone geometry with a 1.25-inch C-CAM gold dome tweeter. The tweeter is positioned within a ‘bridge’ at the acoustic centre of the bass/mid driver and angled at 25 degrees to deliver precision high-frequency directivity into the desired listening position. The C2L-A delivers clarity and impact in applications where conventional in-ceiling speakers simply cannot provide the required focus, whether deployed as height channels in a Dolby Atmos configuration, or as part of a precision multi-channel music system.

 

Acoustic Performance

The C2L-A offers a suite of intelligent installation features and advanced acoustic technologies, including High-frequency (HF) adjustment and boundary compensation. These enable a certain element of flexibility in placement of the speaker as well as allowing it to be ‘tuned’ into the room to achieve the desired performance – ideal for rooms where desired placement could be complex.

 

C-CAM

At the heart of the C2L-A is a 9-inch C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium). C-CAM cone material is ultra-light yet rigid, delivering faster response, lower distortion and exceptionally clear, detailed sound.

 

RST II cone geometry 

Not just a pattern for the sake of visual aesthetics, the RST II geometry strengthens the driver for greater rigidity, reducing distortion and delivering cleaner, more accurate sound. The result is tighter bass, improved clarity and a more dynamic listening experience.

 

Gold Dome Tweeter

A newly designed bridge houses the angled C-CAM 1.25-inch gold dome tweeter, set at a precise 25-degree angle to focus high-frequency energy directly into the desired listening area with unmatched accuracy.

 

Installation 

Monitor Audio has engineered the C2L-A with installation efficiency firmly in mind. The speaker features the company's patent-pending Quik-Link speaker cable connector, which significantly increases the ease and speed of installation. The Tri-Grip II dog-leg fixings have been comprehensively re-engineered for more robust, reliable, and secure fitment, ensuring complete confidence once in the ceiling.

 

Design

With a cut-out diameter of 248mm, the C2L-A maintains a minimal visual footprint. Almost flush magnetic grilles, available in black or white, with an optional square grille offering further design flexibility. The result is an installation that remains virtually invisible, with all attention directed to the performance, not the hardware.
