SOUND YOU CAN FEEL

The NS-2000A is a new generation of speaker crafted by Yamaha. Fusing exquisitely rich aesthetics with the latest advanced technologies, it delivers a unified, balanced sound field that encompasses musicality at its essence.

INSTRUMENTAL INSPIRATION

The Yamaha NS-2000A comes with the same signature gloss finish as found on our grand pianos. This elegant finish presents the speaker as stylish piece of furniture, providing a heightened sense of aesthetic even when no music is playing.

TRUE SOUND

This is sound only Yamaha can realize. We're the only brand in the world that handles audio from the moment sound is created to the moment it reaches the human ear. Simply close your eyes, feel the music in front of you, and experience the profound sensation of being closer to the artist.

TONAL BALANCE

Yamaha expresses sound as the artist intended. Reproducing sonic elements such as vocals, instruments at the right pitch requires both passion and precision. Yamaha accomplishes this through tonal balance, enriching harmonies, and recreating musicality to help you hear sounds you couldn't hear before.

PERFECTLY UNIFIED TONE

We deliver the audio of musical instruments just as they sound when played. As a world-renowned musical instrument brand, Yamaha is relentlessly committed to this mission. We created flagship speakers under the design concept of having consistent tone color throughout the entire frequency spectrum and applied unique technology to achieve it. Every speaker unit is made from a blend of ZYLON®, which has excellent sound velocity and minimal internal dispersion, and spruce, which is used in the soundboard of Yamaha grand pianos. This ensures accurate, faithful tonal expression throughout the entire audio spectrum, making the harmonies of the sound stand out and the music richer and more beautiful.

SOUND IMAGE

The position of the artist and the instruments, as well as the delicate nuances and the very atmosphere of the performance space, is stunningly reproduced. The resulting soundstage is so incredibly realistic, you’ll feel as if you were watching the performance unfold right in front of you.

TOTAL MUSIC REPRODUCTION

Our patented Resonance Suppression (R.S.) chambers are mounted on the back of the tweeter and midrange units in order to faithfully express even the subtlest nuances of musical instruments and voices. Two specially shaped tubes cancel out unwanted resonance generated behind the diaphragm without relying on conventional sound-absorbing materials. This revives the natural sound and maintains the minute musical details in the original source.

FAITHFUL MUSICAL PRESENCE

Conventional speakers use a large amount of sound-absorbing material to eliminate standing waves inside the cabinet. Unfortunately, doing so also removes much of the inherent freshness of the music. In the NS-2000A, we’ve employed our patented Acoustic Absorber resonator tube to eliminate standing waves. This patented technology minimizes the amount of absorbing material so that the original realism of music that tends to be lost by sound absorption is reproduced with full energy and dynamism.

DYNAMICS

As opposed to merely producing powerful sound, we pursue a sense of dynamics that express the contrast between stillness and motion in the music.

HIGHLY MUSICAL VIBRATION CONTROL

The basis for producing excellent sound—determining what makes the enclosure sound and where to suppress vibration—is virtually identical whether crafting musical instruments or creating speakers. The cabinet construction of the NS-2000A incorporates state-of-the-art speaker design technology that makes full use of laser vibrometers used in musical instrument research and development, as well as sophisticated Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis. The cross piece of the cabinet has been optimally reinforced ensuring solid low-frequency response, providing a secure, comfortable musical foundation without anything being lost.

SOLID CONNECTIVITY

Cut from pure brass, the large screw-type speaker terminals allow for easy and firm tightening, creating a highly secure connection and delivering absolute signal integrity.

HIGH-QUALITY FEEL

The speaker terminals feature an original design with a shape that comfortably fits your fingers allowing for effortless tightening.

Professional Reviews 91/100

Rating for NS-2000A

Deliciously Crispy

Sound Quality

90/100

Build Quality

96/100

Value for Money

92/100

With deep bass authority, a silky treble, and a wide, layered soundstage, the NS-2000A aims high and largely lands there. Audioholics praised its control and dynamics, while SoundStage Solo highlighted its refined, non-fatiguing flow. Add luxury-grade finishing, and it becomes a serious statement speaker.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"these speakers are brilliant, from their level of construction and finish, to their sonic delivery, regardless of price."

SoundStage Solo

Pros

Delivers strong, controlled bass with real extension and punch, often eliminating the need for a subwoofer.

Produces a spacious, layered soundstage with precise imaging and convincing venue ambience.

Offers clean, refined treble that stays detailed without becoming sibilant or fatiguing.

Built and finished to an exceptionally high standard, with a luxury feel that reviewers felt justified the price.

&

Cons

The midrange is measured as recessed relative to the treble, which can make the speaker sound a little forward or crisp in some setups.

It is somewhat placement-sensitive, especially if aimed directly at the listening position, and works best with careful setup.

Bass is excellent for most music, but extreme bassheads may still want a subwoofer for the deepest low-end demands.

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 90/100

Reviewers consistently describe a refined, highly capable presentation with real scale and finesse. The sound is praised as full-bodied and all-encompassing, with one review calling the overall presentation fantastic and another highlighting superb sound quality when the speakers are correctly placed.

Bass

90/100

The bass is described as strong, punchy, and capable of reaching down to 25Hz in-room, with kick drums having palpable impact and no need for a subwoofer for most users. At the same time, one reviewer notes it is a little more restrained than some rivals, so it sounds controlled rather than overblown.

Mid

86/100

The midrange is often described as smooth, well balanced, and musically engaging, with vocals and low-mids holding attention well. There is, however, a meaningful complaint from Audioholics that the midrange is recessed relative to the treble, which tempers the otherwise positive showing.

Treble

92/100

The treble is widely praised for being crisp, refined, and silky, with good detail and no real sibilance. One review does note it is not as extended as some competing designs, but the overall impression is of a clean, non-fatiguing top end with plenty of air.

Soundstage Imaging

92/100

Reviewers describe a wide, expansive stage with beautiful layering and a convincing sense of space. Imaging is also reported as precise, and the speakers are said to recreate venue acoustics in a lifelike way when properly set up.

Dynamics

93/100

Dynamics are a clear strength, with the speakers said to play loudly without strain and to deliver lightning speed, aggression, and refinement. They are also described as staying enjoyable at lower volumes, which suggests both strong macrodynamic ability and good low-level expression.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Build Quality

96/100

Build quality draws repeated superlative praise, from an impeccable fit and finish to a heavy, solid cabinet with a luxury-class feel. Reviewers also highlight the lacquered finish, quality hardware, and the impression that these are built to last as heirloom-level products.

Value for Money

92/100

Despite the premium asking price, reviewers repeatedly say the NS-2000A earns its keep and is not overpriced. They frame it as a luxury product that still feels worth the money, with no strong sense that cheaper alternatives clearly eclipse it in this class.
