What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 82/100
The available review finds the DT-01 spacious and well separated, with strong imaging and layering from its integrated DAC. There is also a reported background buzz or hiss, though it should be unobtrusive with most headphones and only potentially troublesome with very sensitive IEMs. Tonal character, dynamic expression and performance across a wide range of headphone loads receive little direct discussion.
Transparency Resolution
90/100
Prime Audio Reviews reports a wide soundstage with very good imaging, excellent layering and separation. Those observations point to a clear, spacious presentation rather than a congested one.
Tonal Balance Musicality
82/100
The review is positive about the DAC performance overall, but does not describe the DT-01's tonal balance, timbre, warmth or treble character in detail. Listeners seeking a particular sonic flavour should look for further pairing impressions.
Dynamics
82/100
The reviewer does not directly assess punch, transient attack, headroom or macro-dynamic authority. Its 1300mW output suggests useful desktop-style capability, but the available listening comments do not establish how it responds with demanding headphones.
Noise Floor
78/100
Prime Audio Reviews hears a small amount of buzz or hiss in the background. It is said to be inaudible with most headphones and most IEMs, but exceptionally sensitive in-ears may reveal it.
Headphone Compatibility
80/100
The DT-01 has a stated 1300mW output and the reviewer expects the residual noise to be inaudible with most headphones. However, there are no detailed comparisons across high-impedance headphones, difficult planars or sensitive IEMs, and the hiss makes it less clearly suited to ultra-sensitive in-ears.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
89/100
Prime Audio Reviews describes the unit as premium-feeling, solid and hefty rather than like a lightweight accessory. The felt-covered magnetic phone support is also praised for snapping securely into place and feeling satisfying in everyday use.
Features Usability
89/100
This is more than a basic headphone amp: it combines a DAC with USB computer/phone input, AUX output, and coaxial, optical and USB digital outputs for transport use. Charging can be switched on or off while a phone is docked, and the magnetic support adds practical convenience, although there is no mention of balanced headphone connections, gain settings or remote operation.
Value for Money
92/100
At $159, Prime Audio Reviews calls the DT-01 "pretty awesome" and compares its price to that of a mid-tier dongle. The reviewer considers the dock form factor, DAC/amp functionality and digital-transport outputs unusually strong value at this price.
