In our pursuit of the ideal conductor for our interconnects, we have delved deep into research and development to create our own proprietary formulation.

Autria Alloy is meticulously engineered to eliminate grain boundaries, utilizing a specific composition of conducting materials. Through precise temperature treatment, we have achieved exceptional signal transmission performance.

To safeguard against conductor oxidation, the bare metal is first heat treated to perfect its atomic structure, then the surface of the Autria alloy undergoes a mirror-like polishing process and is coated with an epoxy-type protective layer. It is then carefully inserted into a PTFE tube to enhance its dielectric properties.

Vari-Twist

The signal pairs within our cables are meticulously twisted at varying angles throughout the entire cable length. This intentional variation in the relationship between the twisted pairs serves to minimize resonance with specific frequencies while simultaneously minimizing interference and magnetic fields. As a result, the cable's signature is effectively spread across the spectrum, ensuring that it remains virtually imperceptible.

It is widely acknowledged that different cables carry various types of signals throughout the system, including different frequencies, currents, and voltages. To address this, we have developed 11 distinct structures and designs tailored to each type of cable, ensuring optimal performance.

Our meticulous approach involves optimizing the number of conductors, capacitance, inductance, shielding effectiveness, and transmission speed. This comprehensive design process is not only challenging but also incurs significant costs in both design and manufacturing. However, it is the only way to achieve the WestminsterLab seal of approval.

100% Handmade

To safeguard the delicate atomic structure of our conductors, we adhere to a strictly manual process. Coating the conductor in Teflon and twisting them using machines can compromise the achieved atomic structure after the heat treatment process.

By conducting every step manually, we are not constrained by limitations on the quantity of construction or cable design. This means we can avoid playing the minimum order quantity (MOQ) game, allowing us to offer a wider range of options to our customers.

However, it is important to note that this approach does come with a downside. Manufacturing a WestminsterLab cable takes significantly more time and effort—more than 20-50 times longer—compared to machine-made counterparts.

Carbon Shielding

An important aspect of interconnect design is to safeguard the delicate signals transmitted through the cable.

Commonly used shielding materials in the industry include tin, aluminum, copper, silver-plated copper, and nickel-plated copper. However, our tests have shown that while these metals absorb and redirect interferences, they can also convert radio waves into electricity and magnetic fields that affect the entire system. This can result in a negative impact on background darkness, sound staging, and dynamics, leading to a dull, contracted, and suppressed sound.

Our ultimate choice for shielding is a high-quality carbon fiber sleeve. Unlike other materials, it is unaffected by magnetic fields and rejects interferences without absorption. When combined with Vari-Twist Technology, it elevates our already state-of-the-art cable to a whole new level.
