What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 50/100
The supplied review does not describe the Egoista 845's sonic presentation, detail, dynamics, background noise, or performance with particular headphones. Its Class A, zero-feedback tube design is described in the specifications, but the available review provides no listening evidence to establish how that translates in use.
Transparency Resolution
50/100
The available review does not comment on clarity, detail retrieval, separation, or perceived resolution. There is therefore no reviewer listening evidence on whether the amplifier sounds especially revealing or forgiving.
Tonal Balance Musicality
50/100
No supplied review characterises the tonal balance, timbre, warmth, neutrality, or musical engagement of the 845-based design. Tube complement and circuit topology alone do not establish its audible character.
Dynamics
50/100
The review offers no observations about transient attack, punch, headroom, bass control, or dynamic authority. It does not identify headphone pairings that would demonstrate how effortlessly the amplifier handles demanding musical peaks.
Noise Floor
50/100
The supplied material does not mention hiss, hum, background silence, or use with sensitive IEMs. There is no direct evidence of its residual-noise behaviour with either efficient or difficult headphones.
Headphone Compatibility
50/100
The specifications list two standard jack outputs and two 4-pin XLR stereo outputs, indicating support for several headphone connection types. However, the review gives no evidence about gain range, output behaviour, or real-world results with high-impedance dynamics, planars, or sensitive earphones.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
52/100
The review notes that Viva offers standard painted finishes and optional custom automotive paint for an additional $500. It does not discuss chassis construction, controls, sockets, internal execution, heat management, or long-term durability.
Features Usability
85/100
The Egoista 845 provides four source inputs plus a direct input that bypasses the preamp stage. It also offers standard stereo jack outputs, dual 4-pin XLR headphone outputs, and XLR mono outputs, making it more flexible than a basic single-input, single-output amplifier; the review does not comment on everyday control ergonomics.
Value for Money
78/100
The reviewed US price was $13,800, while the supplied current price range is $16,750 to $23,250. The reviewer explicitly frames that price as potentially being "out of bounds" for some buyers and points to Viva's less expensive Egoista 2A3 as an alternative, with no countervailing value praise provided.
