Technical insights

In-ears use different driver technologies to produce sound. Two of the most common types are balanced armature drivers (BA) and dynamic drivers (DD). Both have their own strengths and sound different depending on the intended use and sound design.

BA drivers are compact, precise drivers that are particularly efficient at reproducing certain frequency ranges clearly and with great detail. They are therefore often used in multi-way driver setups, where one or more BA drivers are specialized for a specific frequency range (e.g. highs, mids or lows).

The 7 drivers of the VE PURE are powered by a 5-way crossover. This provides a broad coverage of the mid-frequency spectrum for the most accurate tuning of the entire frequency response.

The VE PURE makes use of various techniques to get the most out of its performance:

• Most of the BA drivers in the VE PURE are used as dual-chamber drivers and therefore work with two chambers to deliver even more power.
• To ensure that the low frequencies can be reproduced even more precisely, the dual-chamber drivers in the VE PURE work with so-called backventings. This small opening in the otherwise closed housing of the driver gives the driver an additional resonance chamber, allowing even lower frequencies to be reproduced.
• To give the upper frequencies of 10 kHz - 20 kHz even more presence, the VE PURE uses a special super tweeter. The result is exceptionally airy and open highs.
