What Reviewers Are Saying
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Bass
92/100
Reviewers describe a rich, clean and full-bodied low end, with plenty of punch from this smaller Impact X model. It reaches convincingly into deep bass while retaining composure on demanding material, and its combination of responsive transients and room-filling weight works well for both music and home cinema.
Integration
94/100
The Impact X 10 was reported to blend very naturally with compact monitors, filling in deep bass and lower midrange without changing the speakers' character or finesse. One reviewer says it is only really noticed when switched off, while another found its clean foundation blended well with satellite speakers.
Dynamics
91/100
There is strong evidence of lively transient behavior and substantial home-theater impact: reviewers cite crisp transients, room-shaking output and almost excessive volume capability. The Movie preset is also said to deliver a notably bombastic presentation, although sustained high-output testing is not discussed in detail.
Build Quality
89/100
The 20 mm MDF cabinet is described as very well made, and the reinforced, high-excursion paper driver is intended to combine rigidity with low moving mass. Reviewers offer positive construction comments, though there is little discussion of long-term durability.
Features Usability
88/100
Useful setup provisions include continuously adjustable low-pass crossover and level controls, phase adjustment, auto standby, high- and low-level connectivity, and remote operation. The selectable DSP modes—covering Music, Movie, Night, Rock/Pop and Linear listening—give owners practical ways to tailor output to content and conditions.
Value for Money
90/100
At its stated €799 RRP, one reviewer explicitly rates price/performance as excellent. The reviews do not provide extensive direct comparisons with competing current subwoofers, but the reported combination of clean bass, easy blending and substantial output is presented as compelling at its asking price.

Manufacturer's Description — Velodyne
Velodyne Acoustics Impact X
These powerful subwoofers combine efficient front-firing drivers with a down-firing or rear-firing bass reflex port.
The Impact X series creates a lasting impression with amazing low frequency sound. The subwoofers’ attractive MDF enclosure in black and white finish also blends beautifully with modern interiors. The music and home theater experience in specific from the smallest possible package benefits enormously from the completely redesigned 10- and 12-inch drivers, which set new standards in this price range. A highly efficient Class D amplifier, along with core technologies from Velodyne Acoustics, minimizes distortion and makes amazing bass performance possible.
Now, a 15-inch subwoofer also expands the Impact X line. It features a special flow-optimized rear slot design that is used as a bass reflex. With a lower frequency limit of 19 Hertz and 9 DSP modes that also bring room modes under control, it is especially designed for demanding home theater applications and large living rooms.
Features
- Active 10-, 12- and 15-inch drivers of the three models deliver powerful low frequency sound with the bass reflex port on the bottom or back.
- Nine DSP presets adjustable via remote control on the 15-inch model (four on Impact X 10 and 12 inches).
- With 600 watts of maximum power (1,000 watts on the 15-inch model), the classic Class D amplifier provides enough power for the grand home theater experience.
- Anti-clipping circuitry to limit amplifier distortion.
The Impact X in 10, 12 and 15 inches: highly efficient and precise
All subwoofers combine Velodyne Acoustics core technologies in the most compact enclosure possible with dimmable display and offer full control over bass.
