It’s nearly impossible to improve upon revolutionary technology like Torrent or the overall immaculate design of the Metal. Nearly.  But after nearly 10 years of research and development, Totem accomplished the impossible with the Element Metal V2.

Stealth black finish on the aluminum framework of our proprietary Torrent woofers and acoustic isolation are the visible changes. The acoustic improvements are even more dramatic.

The Metal V2 is equipped with the second generation of 7” Torrent woofers, precision-machined  in-house with the exactness of a luxury watch and fine-tuned like a performance engine. Individual magnets positioned cylindrically around the motor structure keep the voice coil continuously immersed within the magnetic field for absolute and instant control of its every reaction.  The design is a controlled ferocity that amazingly requires no crossover, channeling vast dynamic potential into the purest musical experience.

The remarkable tweeter is the equal counterpoint to the powerhouse Torrent. The thick aluminum faceplate and finned aluminum body allows it to stay cool as it matches the torrid pace of the Torrent with clarity and openness at any volume setting.

All this technology is housed in a spectacular cabinet with no parallel surfaces that eradicates distortion-causing interior standing waves.  It is the acoustic and artistic standard to which all others will be measured.  They will all be found wanting, for there is simply nothing like the Element Metal V2.

Totem's Exclusive Torrent Driver

Totem Torrent drivers are among the most advanced drivers in the world and represent Totem’s relentless drive to push the boundaries of sonic performance. The driver cradle is outfitted with seventeen 2.5-inch long neodymium magnets which employ a proprietary topology in the way they are magnetized. Incredibly, the Torrent drivers do not require a crossover in their complete frequency path, allowing a completely uninterrupted signal flow. Sonically, these drivers offer a midrange with staggering articulation, organic harmonics, speed, clarity and detail extraction. Titanium Dome Tweeter

The titanium dome tweeter is engineered to perfectly match the performance of the Torrent driver. Its chassis, which consists of the front plate and the rear fins, is constructed out of a single solid piece of metal which allows it to behave as a large radiator that is very efficient at keeping the tweeter stable and cool. This tweeter is designed to produce gigantic imaging that does not shift about in the listening position, even during huge dynamic contrasts and swings.

Unique Cabinet Construction

The Element V2 loudspeaker cabinets feature a complex geometric design, without any parallel surfaces. This design allows the cabinets to have a certain amount of energy that quickly dissipates, harmoniously aiding with the spatial attributes offered by the speakers and without blurring the image or reducing the dynamics. Borosilicate paint on the inside of the cabinets acts like a radiator and maintains cabinet stability and sonic performance for the lifetime of the speakers, unlike traditional fillers used by most speakers, which decay over time.

WBT Platinum Bi-Wire Speaker Terminals

The Element V2 loudspeakers are outfitted with the coveted WBT Platinum Bi-Wire speaker terminals. The aluminum terminal plate is custom machined and annealed to reduce reverb. The speaker terminals offer adequate spacing for increased comfort when connecting speaker cables.

Decoupling System

The Metal V2 is equipped with a unique decoupling system which consists of an adjustable Claw at the front, combined with a Skid Plate at the bottom and back. Designed for controlled energy release and use on both hard floors and carpets, this system allows the Metal V2 loudspeakers to achieve their maximum performance.

Magnetic Grilles

The included grilles attach to the front baffles using hidden magnets which allows the front of the speaker to achieve a perfectly clean and minimalist appearance.
