Thrax YATRUS
The Thrax YATRUS pairs direct-drive pitch stability with a remarkably quiet, resolving presentation, bringing tonal saturation, spaciousness and textured bass to serious vinyl systems. TONEAudio MAGAZINE found its finely machined, damped aluminium chassis as compelling as its ability to give piano, strings and vocals vivid solidity, delicacy and separation.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 93/100
The Yatrus is described as an exceptionally resolving, musically immersive record player with unusual tonal saturation, air and low-frequency texture. Its direct-drive precision gives acoustic instruments convincing solidity, while the reported quietness lets fine detail emerge clearly.
Overall Sound
96/100
TONEAudio found the Yatrus competitive with any turntable it had reviewed regardless of price, praising its grand-scale musical delivery. The review highlights rich tonal colour and air, vivid spatial presence, and exceptionally fine detail retrieval, including bass texture previously obscured in familiar recordings.
Speed Stability
95/100
The reviewer attributes a major part of the Yatrus's performance to its direct-drive speed accuracy. Piano, violin and other stringed instruments are said to gain notable solidity and delicacy, while classical recordings reveal convincing differentiation in the weight and texture of individual instruments.
Tonearm Performance
88/100
The deck accepts tonearms of nine inches or less, and the reviewed Schroder-arm combination was considered so successful that the reviewer recommended it as a complete package. The review provides little direct evidence on the Yatrus's arm mounting or compatibility beyond that positive pairing.
Noise Isolation
89/100
Through the Pass Labs XSPhono, the Yatrus made an immediate impression for quiet operation. That low apparent noise floor supports the table's strong resolution, though the review offers limited detail on its resistance to footfall, acoustic feedback or other external vibration.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
96/100
TONEAudio repeatedly praises the Yatrus's workmanship, solidity and carefully considered design. Its machined surfaces, fasteners and low-profile damped aluminium plinth were described as exquisite, with fit and finish compared to premium luxury-engineered components.
Features Usability
87/100
The Yatrus is reported to be quick and straightforward to set up despite its high-end ambitions. It keeps the installation tidy with an integrated design, supports 33, 45 and 78 rpm playback, and offers adjustable mounting for a short tonearm, although it does not pursue convenience features such as a built-in phono stage or automation.
Value for Money
96/100
At $15,500 before tonearm and cartridge, the Yatrus remains an expensive proposition, but TONEAudio called it a "best buy." The reviewer described it as a point of diminishing returns, said it looks and feels costlier than it is, and could not imagine needing more turntable.

Manufacturer's Description — Thrax
The steady growth of analog replay and the introduction of ever more complicated replay systems set us on a task to pack all the performance achievable today with a most desirable quality called user friendliness.
Turntables are often set in sub-optimal conditions lacking purpose-built racks and vibration-free supports, so we implemented a high loss low-resonance integral support system in the Yatrus allowing you to use it on any furniture in your home while still preventing vibrations from reaching the platter/cartridge interface.
Yatrus uses a maintenance-free drive system. No need for regular speed adjustments, belt replacements and so on. It is made to run forever. By the use of a direct-drive motor we eliminate multiple noise sources like belt knock and jitter, high speed motor vibration, multiple bearings chatter and so on. The result is a stunningly quiet drive system mounted on an inert rigid body with dampened rigid coupling to the arm-board manifesting as the most explosive dynamics and clean textures.
The Yatrus is designed for use with a single 9” tonearm.
