What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 93/100
Bass
92/100
Reviewers repeatedly praise deep, tuneful and controlled bass—‘more tonality and agility’, ‘good go at the super-deep notes’—and Sonos' Sound Motion dual-membrane woofer supports that. Bass is improved vs the original Arc with better stopping and definition, giving authoritative low-frequency performance for a single-bar design.
Mid
94/100
Multiple reviews highlight musicality and vocal clarity: ‘Sonos soundbars... musical’, ‘never allowing the vocals to move out of focus’, and six midwoofers provide faithful midrange playback and coherent crossover performance.
Treble
92/100
Treble is described as terrifically detailed and crisp with silk-dome tweeters delivering clear dialogue and fine incidental detail without harshness; reviewers note improved crispness and airiness.
Soundstage Imaging
93/100
Dolby Atmos processing and upward-firing drivers create an impressive, three-dimensional soundfield: reviewers report precise spatial placement, overhead effects and audio that extends beyond the TV edges for immersive imaging.
Dynamics
91/100
Reviewers note improved precision, tightness and low-level dynamic subtlety; the Arc Ultra handles grand volume swings cleanly and is capable of high output without obvious compression or strain.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
88/100
Build and cabinet engineering are solid; reviewers cite side panels designed to minimize distortion and a refined finish. Sonos' fit-and-finish and driver/crossover integration appear well executed though detailed teardown evidence is limited.
Features Connectivity
95/100
Extensive modern connectivity: HDMI eARC, Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, AirPlay 2, Sonos app with Trueplay and adjustable EQ, Dolby Atmos support, voice assistants and mic switch, plus TV Audio Swap—very feature-rich for a single-bar solution.
Value for Money
80/100
At roughly $999/€999 reviewers position the Arc Ultra as a premium, high-performing upgrade over the Arc. Strong performance justifies the price for buyers seeking an all-in-one, minimal wireless home cinema, but it is a costly proposition compared with simpler soundbars or separates.
