Designed and Built in the USA
By “designed and built in the USA" this is what we mean: the vast majority of the total production cost of Vidar 2F—chassis, boards, transformers, assembly, etc—goes to US companies manufacturing in the US. Chassis, transformers, and PCBs are actually all from California, and Vidar is assembled, burnt in, tested, and shipped from our San Antonio, Texas production facility.
5-Year Warranty and Easy Return Policy
Vidar is covered by a 5-year limited warranty that covers parts and labor. And if you don’t like your Vidar, you can send it back for a refund, minus 5% restocking fee, within 15 days of receiving it.

Schiit Audio Vidar 2F
The Vidar 2F is a compact, high-current power amplifier that delivers punchy, controlled bass and transparent midrange with surprising refinement. At heart it offers 100W RMS per channel (stereo 8Ω) with ample headroom—reviewers like Dean Seislove and Audiophilepure highlight its authority over complex music and low-frequency control. Imaging is coherent and speakers often disappear when properly matched, according to Audiophile Style. The chassis is small but well engineered, with microprocessor oversight and a beefy dual-mono power supply for reliable operation. Ideal for listeners upgrading from an integrated amp or building a compact two-box system, the Vidar 2F pairs real-world power and quiet backgrounds with one of the strongest value propositions in its class.
Pros
- Generous dynamics and headroom with authoritative low‑frequency control, able to drive most speakers without strain.
- Musical, detailed midrange and smooth treble that preserves texture and clarity across complex mixes.
- Compact, well‑built design with microprocessor monitoring and robust power supply architecture for reliable operation.
- Exceptional value—delivers performance comparable to significantly more expensive systems for the price segment.
&
Cons
- Runs warm in normal use; the amp can feel energetic thermally and benefits from ventilation.
- Can be fussy with certain cable/speaker pairings and may lack the absolute last few percent of refinement versus very high‑end reference electronics.

Dynamics
92/100
Reviewers repeatedly praise the Vidar's control, headroom and slam: Audiophilepure notes 'reaction times and shove were outstanding' and 'firm control...with no excess flab', and Positive Feedback comments on 100W/8Ω and 200W/4Ω capability with authoritative low-end. The spec sheet (100Wpc into 8Ω, 200W into 4Ω, 400W bridged mono) plus dual-mono main rails and robust 600VA transformer support the amp's ability to deliver current and headroom; reviewers describe it as 'plenty for almost any pair of speakers' which justifies a high dynamics score relative to its Class AB-like topology.
Soundstage Imaging
88/100
Reviewers report excellent imaging and disappearances of speakers: 'The speakers disappeared as the source of music' and strong layering/detail with suitable speakers (Positive Feedback, Audiophile Style). While the Vidar supports a large, well-defined stage for its price, one reviewer noted it lacked some of the deepest depth and ultimate image specificity compared with much more expensive reference electronics, so a slightly lower score than sound quality is appropriate.

Build Quality
88/100
Schiit uses a substantial 600VA transformer with dual-mono rails, robust monitoring (Forkbeard), and solid measured specs (SNR >123 dB, >100 damping factor) which reviewers praise; Positive Feedback notes compact footprint and good thermal behavior ('runs very warm but not quite hot'). The amp's small size for its power and discrete BJT, no-signal-path capacitors design suggest strong engineering; the reduced heatsink footprint is noted but not criticized, so build quality rates very highly.
Value for Money
92/100
Multiple reviews explicitly call out outstanding value: Audiophilepure and Positive Feedback reference sub-$1000 pricing (review-era $699 mentioned) and say the Vidar 'performs even better than the asking price' and that the system was 'exceptional' for the money. Given repeated reviewer language that the Vidar punches above its price and competes with much costlier gear, the amp earns strong value marks for its segment.
