What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 90/100
Reviewers praise the S14 as highly revealing and engaging, with excellent retrieval of string texture, fret noise, and other low-level details. They also describe a full-bodied, natural tonal balance, strong bass control, and a soundstage that feels immersive rather than flat.
Transparency Resolution
89/100
Dennis Burger highlights the amp's ability to deliver textures, harmonic squawks, fret noise, and other fine details cleanly. He does note that some air and a bit of attack were lost in one comparison, so it is not presented as perfectly unvarnished.
Tonal Balance Musicality
91/100
The amp is described as full-bodied and tonally spot on, with timbres that feel convincing and musical. The one caveat is that some richness and room air were not conveyed quite as richly on one recording, but the overall impression is natural and easy to enjoy.
Dynamics
90/100
Burger repeatedly stresses the S14's oomph, noting that it handled a demanding speaker load with ease and kept the tonal balance intact. The note decay and reverb are also singled out as wonderfully rendered, supporting a sense of control and composure under pressure.
Soundstage Imaging
89/100
The soundstage is described in vivid, immersive terms, to the point that the reviewer wanted to crawl into it. That said, the review does not dwell on pin-point imaging precision or layering, so the praise is more about spaciousness and involvement than audiophile diagrammatic exactness.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
88/100
Reviewers point to a weighty, all-metal chassis with substantial power-supply and heatsink content, which gives the unit a solid physical presence. The metal remote also earns praise for its quality and responsiveness, though there is not much detailed discussion of internal craftsmanship beyond that.
Features Connectivity
94/100
The S14 is very well equipped: AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth, Roon Ready support, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz, USB audio, and coax/optical digital inputs. Reviewers note the useful app control as well, while also mentioning the lack of a built-in multiroom platform and bass management.
Value for Money
89/100
The review frames the S14 as a serious, practical package for the price, especially given the upgraded power supply and its ability to drive difficult speakers. It is presented as a strong choice for listeners who want simple, flexible streaming integration and solid performance rather than as a bargain-basement deal.
