Pros
Clean, neutral and revealing presentation with open staging, vivid vocals and controlled, textured bass.

Strong all-in-one connectivity, including Roon Ready streaming, HDMI eARC/CEC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, digital inputs, pre-outs and subwoofer output.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 93/100
Reviewers consistently describe a clean, neutral and highly controlled presentation, combining strong detail with a smooth lack of glare. Its generous power delivery, agile transients and open, well-focused staging make it suitable for both serious music listening and high-quality TV sound.
Transparency Resolution
93/100
SoundStage Solo calls the RAS-5000 “obviously transparent,” with an insightful midrange, clear vocal textures and an open presentation. HiFi News similarly finds fine detail without sacrificing smoothness or coherence, while Andrew Robinson praises its controlled, detailed neutrality.
Tonal Balance Musicality
92/100
The tonal balance is widely described as neutral, controlled and free of obvious coloration. Reviewers also find it smooth and non-fatiguing, with HiFi News hearing no harshness and SoundStage Solo noting a slightly forward, lively presentation rather than a warm or romantic one.
Dynamics
95/100
Dynamics are a clear strength: HiFi News praises its agility, snap, measured power and control even at very high volume. SoundStage Solo hears notably strong transient contrast and concussive drum impact, while Andrew Robinson considers its dynamic contrast exceptional at all listening levels.
Soundstage Imaging
93/100
Reviews describe a large, open and expansive soundstage with well-defined placement of instruments and voices. SoundStage Solo reports that speakers disappeared into the recording space, while HiFi News praises the amplifier for separating individual instruments without disconnecting them from the musical whole.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
89/100
The RAS-5000 is described as substantial, sturdy and dependably made, with neat full-size Rotel casework. HiFi News also highlights the custom toroidal transformer, oversized power supply and large cooling fins supporting its Class AB output stage.
Features Connectivity
95/100
This is an unusually complete all-in-one amplifier, with Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-A and USB-B, optical and coaxial digital inputs, HDMI eARC, streaming support, Roon Ready certification, pre-outs and a subwoofer output. Reviewers particularly praise the effective HDMI/CEC integration for TV audio and the smooth Google Home ecosystem integration, while the display adds useful artwork and metadata presentation.
Value for Money
92/100
At roughly $2,799-$2,999, the RAS-5000 is positioned as a premium integrated streaming amplifier rather than an entry-level model. Gramophone considers it strong value because it combines amplification, DAC, preamplifier, streaming and TV connectivity in one powerful component, potentially freeing more system budget for speakers.
