What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 88/100
The available review finds the DragoN exceptionally clear, quick and controlled, combining fine low-level detail with a largely neutral tonal presentation and real bass authority. Spatial presentation is not directly discussed, so there is less evidence about image placement and stage scale than there is about resolution, tonal character and power delivery.
Transparency Resolution
93/100
The Absolute Sound hears “near-granular finesse and clarity,” distinguishing details as small as a snare's snap and rattle at the rear of the hall and the flutter of a harp. That description points to unusually strong retrieval of fine transient and textural information.
Tonal Balance Musicality
91/100
The presentation is described as predominantly neutral, with welcome glimmers of midrange warmth and a clearly defined presence region. Strings reportedly retain their individual attacks and resonances, suggesting convincing instrumental color rather than an overly smoothed or homogenized sound.
Dynamics
94/100
Speed and transient information are described as naturalistic and lively, while bass is said to be superbly controlled. The reviewer also heard ready authority on organ pedal notes and the lowest piano registers, supporting its ability to maintain composure and grip on demanding material.
Soundstage Imaging
75/100
The review's reference to hearing a snare drum at the back of the hall hints at useful spatial resolution. However, it offers little direct comment on soundstage width, depth, image focus or layering.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
82/100
The DragoN is a sophisticated hybrid tube/Class D monoblock design, with substantial specified output of 325W into 8 ohms and 525W into 4 ohms. The review does not provide detailed coverage of chassis finishing, terminals, thermal behavior or long-term durability, but reports no engineering or operational shortcomings.
Value for Money
85/100
The Absolute Sound listing identifies a $3,995 price, while the supplied product information gives a higher $5,995–$9,980 range. The review calls the amplifier a splendid piece of electronics but does not directly compare its asking price with competing power amplifiers or make a firm value claim.

Manufacturer's Description — Rogue Audio
With the success of the DragoN Stereo Amp Rogue was looking to make a defining statement with their award winning tube/Class D hybrid amplifiers. An amplifier that blends brute power with musicality, finesse, and accuracy. Amplifiers that authoritatively control virtually any loudspeakers.
These new amplifiers are much more than simply a tube circuit placed in front of a class D output section. Our proprietary tubeD circuit topology actually integrates the tube section into the amplifier yielding the smooth natural sound that only a tube amp can provide. With uncanny accuracy the Dragon Monoblocks deliver stunning dynamics and transparency without any of the edgy, etched, or grainy sound that often accompanies solid state designs.
A low power standby mode allows critical components to remain on and fully warmed up without wasting electricity or tube life. A slow start feature allows the tubes to warm up gradually to eliminate turn-on noise and greatly extend tube life. Three massive linear power supplies are used to power the amplifier circuitry and ultra-high quality parts are used throughout the amplifier.
Combined with a stunning appearance, you can be certain that you are investing in an amplifier that truly represents the very leading edge of audio technology.
