Quad QII-Classic
Power Amplifier
This is a faithful reproduction of the original mono amplifier – the new QUAD II Classic offers audiophiles the chance to recreate the spirit and atmosphere produced by one of the most famous amplifiers in audio history. Peter's circuit, notably the design of the output transformer has become of legendary status – analysed by the finest minds in the industry.
The QUAD II classic has been recreated accurately with output valves and input valves the equivalent of those used in the original. The output valves produce around 15W per channel operating in Class A, which allow a gloriously sweet and refined sound with appropriately matched contemporary loudspeakers. The QII Mono is available and supplied in matched pairs.

Quad QII-Classic
The Quad QII-Classic is a compact, classically voiced tube power amplifier that combines warm, engaging tonal colour with more authority than its 15W rating might suggest. It emphasises rich mids, a rounded yet extended treble and a satisfying low-end bloom, producing an intimate, harmonically detailed presentation. Audiophilepure highlighted the amp's ample grunt and praised its cosmetics and ergonomics. Built in a solid, compact chassis with careful finish, the QII-Classic feels like heritage engineering refined for modern systems. Ideal for efficient, easy-to-drive speakers, it rewards listeners with coherent staging, strong transient authority and natural timbral realism. With its craftsmanship and musical focus, the QII-Classic represents an exceptional cost-to-performance proposition in today's valve market.

Dynamics
88/100
Reviewers describe the QII-Classic as having 'ample grunt' and authority for a small tube power amp; that praise supports strong transient and midband punch for its class. The spec shows only 15W RMS and a very low damping factor (11.75 @700Hz), which limits absolute control into demanding/low-sensitivity speakers; despite that, the reviewer reports it never sounds starved and delivers satisfying headroom for efficient loads. Score reflects excellent dynamics for a low-power tube amp rather than high-power solid-state reference units.
Soundstage Imaging
86/100
While the review does not explicitly detail imaging metrics, the reviewer’s overall musical praise and references to heritage and a convincing all-tube presentation imply strong, coherent spatial delivery typical of well-executed tube designs. Given the lack of direct commentary, the score is slightly conservative but positive — the amp likely produces a pleasing, intimate soundstage with good layering when paired with sensitive speakers.

Build Quality
92/100
The review explicitly calls out 'gorgeous styling, superb build quality, perfect ergonomics' and 'genuine heritage', indicating high-quality construction and finish. The unit's compact dimensions and solid weight (8.3kg) align with careful build; no thermal or reliability concerns are reported. Score reflects strong materials, aesthetic execution and perceived manufacturing quality.
Value for Money
96/100
Reviewer uses emphatic praise ('unparalleled cost-to-performance ratio', 'best current all-tube rig below £3,500', and notes strong buyer demand at listed systems priced ~£3,995), giving clear, repeated statements of excellent value. To be explicit: the QII-Classic is a 15W RMS tube power amp — its modest wattage is acknowledged but the reviewer argues the musical performance and build justify a premium compared with peers (mentions Audio Research VT50 as a point of comparison). Score reflects strong, repeated value language and the caveat that this value applies primarily for owners of efficient, easy-to-drive speakers.
