Pros
Dual opposed 8-inch drivers and a compact sealed cabinet are designed to reduce vibration and resonance while supporting detailed, precise low frequencies.
500W Hypex nCore amplification, Analog Devices DSP and IsoAcoustics isolation feet provide a strong technical foundation for controlled dynamics and low-distortion bass.
Useful setup provisions include variable crossover, phase and volume controls, line- and speaker-level inputs, plus a 12V trigger.
Cons
The supplied coverage is primarily preview and manufacturer-claim based, with no independent listening evidence on real-world integration with main speakers.

What Reviewers Are Saying
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Bass
82/100
Audioholics reports PSB’s claim of extension to 25Hz within ±3dB and usable output to 20Hz from its compact sealed enclosure. The article also describes the dual-opposed design as intended to reproduce low frequencies with detail and precision, though it does not provide an independent listening assessment.
Integration
50/100
The supplied review does not report integration outcomes such as a seamless blend with main speakers, absence of boom, reduced localization, or ease of dialing in the subwoofer. Its phase and crossover controls are useful setup tools, but there is no reviewer evidence of how successfully the BP8 blends in a real system.
Dynamics
72/100
The article relays PSB’s description of the 500W Hypex-powered amplifier as capable of “epic dynamics” and refined driver control. This suggests substantial intended headroom for a compact sealed design, but the review offers no independent account of impact, compression, or strain at demanding levels.
Build Quality
75/100
The BP8 is described as using a rigid, acoustically neutral cabinet, dual proprietary carbon-fiber drivers, dense rubber surrounds, and substantial 45-ounce magnet structures. These details point to serious engineering, although the supplied coverage does not include hands-on fit-and-finish or long-term reliability observations.
Features Usability
84/100
The BP8 provides practical core setup facilities: variable crossover, continuously variable volume, 0–180-degree phase control, line- and speaker-level inputs, a 12V trigger, auto standby, and IsoAcoustics isolation feet. Its Analog Devices DSP and Hypex amplification are notable, though the review does not describe app control, room correction, or user presets.
Value for Money
85/100
Audioholics lists a $1,500 MSRP, while the supplied product data lists $2,099. Neither source compares the BP8 directly with similarly priced competitors or makes a clear judgment on whether its performance justifies the asking price.
