Pros
Smooth, rich, non-fatiguing voicing with a lush midrange and well-behaved treble.
Surprisingly punchy, confident bass performance for such a compact floorstander.
Maintains clean, natural sound and an expansive stage at higher listening levels.
Easy-to-drive design works well with modest integrated amplifiers and AV receivers.
Cons
Bass can become boomy when placed close to the front wall, so careful positioning is important.
Relaxed treble trades some top-end air, sparkle and ultimate detail for smoothness.
Short cabinet can place the tweeter below ear level for taller listeners, producing a lower-than-ideal stage.
Lightweight cabinets can feel somewhat wobbly and are easier to knock over than heavier towers.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 89/100
Reviewers find the Alpha T20 an unusually full, smooth and musical small tower, with confident low end and a relaxed tonal balance that remains composed when played loudly. Its presentation is more rich and forgiving than explicitly analytical, and careful positioning away from walls helps it produce its most convincing scale and spaciousness.
Bass
92/100
Both reviewers were surprised by the T20's confident, punchy bass output for such a compact tower; one felt the bass as much as heard it. It benefits from breathing room, however, as placement close to the front wall can make the bass sound boomy, and the deepest notes can become slightly confused.
Mid
89/100
The midrange is repeatedly described as lush, rich and substantial, with natural-sounding vocals and especially velvety male voices. That warmth brings a little extra bloom and chestiness to vocals, so it is not the last word in strict tonal neutrality.
Treble
87/100
The aluminium-dome tweeter is generally smooth, well behaved and free of fatigue, making the T20 a strong option for listeners sensitive to brightness. Some recordings reveal the tweeter calling attention to itself, while the relaxed voicing trades away a measure of top-end air, resolution and sparkle.
Soundstage Imaging
88/100
With space from the walls, reviewers heard impressive width and depth, including notably deep images and a natural, clear stage. The stage can sound somewhat low or short, though, and one reviewer wanted more separation between individual elements.
Dynamics
89/100
The T20 maintained clarity at high listening levels and was said to keep up easily with changing tempos, instruments and rock music. Reviewers also describe punch and authority from its compact enclosure, although there is limited direct commentary on ultimate large-room headroom.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
86/100
Future Audiophile calls the construction rock solid for the asking price, while newrecordday praises the textured wood-grain vinyl wrap and welcome inclusion of magnetic grilles. The light cabinet is somewhat wobbly and more vulnerable to being knocked over than a heavier tower, and the small PSB logo stickers reportedly fell off quickly.
Value for Money
91/100
At the reviewed street price of $649 per pair, reviewers call the T20 affordable and say it sounds great for the money, with features and bass performance that exceed expectations for a mini tower. The supplied product listing shows $1,099, but even the review discussing a higher bracket describes the speakers as attractive and affordable below $2,000.
