Pitt & Giblin SUPERWAX MINI
15” BASS DRIVER.
A premium 15” bass driver offers great dynamics at low displacement, offering supreme control and reduced distortion at any level, with bass extension that doesn’t require a subwoofer.
large format 2-way.
A large loudspeaker enables acoustic performance that smaller speakers can’t match. The size of the cabinet, driver, and waveguide help achieve an extremely consistent response, with excellent sensitivity across the board.
on board amplification.
Hypex nCore amplifiers provide 350w of total power in a small package. By integrating the amplifier into the loudspeaker a consistent package is formed, which is finely calibrated using DSP for stunning performance.
Bronze Waveguide
Cast from solid bronze, the highly optimised geometry of our hand finished waveguide offers incredibly consistent response both on and off axis. A low resonance high efficiency compression driver seamlessly enters the waveguide, which results in a tonally consistent, natural sound anywhere in the room.
Birch Cabinet
Veneered birch plywood is precisely CNC machined, before being carefully assembled and finished by hand. The stiff and dense material offers a stable acoustic environment for low vibration, and outlive a particle board alternative.
designed with dsp.
Digital signal processing facilitates advanced acoustical design opportunities which are simply not possible in a passive system.
Careful application of this technology allows us to optimise the design of the waveguide, cabinet and drivers to maximise acoustical performance, resulting in superbly consistent in-room performance and vanishingly low distortion, at any output level.
Integrated digital signal processing, digital to analogue converters, and Hypex NCore amplification means Superwax Mini is not just a loudspeaker, but an audio system, requiring only the addition of a digital or analogue source. No painstaking amplifier pairing required.
The Superwax Mini impresses with controlled bass from its 15" woofer and Hypex amplification, a waveguide-driven soundstage that keeps imaging stable across the room, and detailed, non-shrilly treble thanks to tight DSP tuning. Review coverage from StereoNET and SoundStage Solo highlights its retro finish and modern active design.
Pros
- Deep, controlled bass from the 15" woofer and Hypex amplification, delivering punch and in-room extension into the 20s–30Hz.
- Consistent, wide imaging driven by the hand-finished bronze waveguide and DSP, preserving detail and clear layer separation across listening positions.
- Comprehensive active feature set — balanced XLR, AES3, coaxial and TOSLINK inputs, plus three DSP presets and onboard volume — removes the need for an external preamp.
&
Cons
- Supplied IR remote is small and feels utilitarian compared with the speaker's premium finish.
- Lowest-octave extension is strong but not the absolute deepest compared with much larger speaker designs.

Bass
94/100
15" mid-bass driver, 250W woofer amp and large cabinet deliver deep, authoritative low end; reviewer notes impact/oomph and manufacturer claims reaching into the 20s Hz, though one measurement/preset showed down to ~30Hz. Tone described as rounded but controlled, not bloated.
Mid
93/100
Reviewer praises balanced, musical presentation and natural warmth without coloration; vocals and timbre described as preserved and non-shrilly, aided by DSP/waveguide integration for coherent midband.
Treble
92/100
Compression driver and waveguide yield refined treble with absence of vocal shrillness and good preservation of piano/percussion detail; extended and controlled without obvious glare.
Soundstage Imaging
93/100
Waveguide and DSP deliver consistent level across listening positions; reviewer reports excellent spatial accuracy, depth and layer separation with focused imaging.
Dynamics
94/100
High available SPL (claimed 116dB) and Hypex amplification produce riveting macro and micro dynamics; reviewer notes sudden starts/stops and absolute control at high levels.

Build Quality
92/100
Hand-finished bronze waveguide, substantial cabinet and quality transducers (15" paper cone, neodymium magnet, titanium compression driver) with integrated Hypex modules indicate very solid engineering and finish.
Features Connectivity
95/100
Comprehensive I/O including balanced XLR, unbalanced RCA, AES3, coaxial and TOSLINK S/PDIF, three DSP presets, IR remote, auto on/off and onboard volume; fully active with no preamp required.
Value for Money
90/100
At the listed price (~14950), reviewer states the speakers offer a performance once unobtainable at this price, implying strong value relative to capability and historical peers.
