EXHIBITION 68 CONCEPT

Driven by a shared love of live performance and audio production, our Exhibition 68 concept loudspeaker system is a high tech, ultra high output point source.

MODULAR MID-BASS

To properly match the directivity performance of the waveguide a cardiod configuration is utilised to generate a smooth response with vastly reduced back-wash. Output from these modules is typically 60-200Hz and each module receives up to 1500w RMS. To assist transport and system scalability for small to medium performances the cardiod 18” units are in single cabinet modules. This also allows the waveguide cabinet to be placed optimally in the stack or hang.

MULTI-ENTRY CONSTANT DIRECTIVITY waveguide

That’s a mouthful - but most of what’s happening is in the throat of the waveguide. A dual diaphragm compression driver entering the centre of the expansion plays high, and is flanked by four of the highest specific power and sensitivity midrange drivers that play all the way to 200Hz. The waveguide itself is massive, potentially the biggest complex geometry unit in the world, where most horns approaching this size are simple in geometry.

FOR THE BIG ONES

As our business scales towards core product development and manufacturing, the few gigs we do each year need to be worthwhile, which means enjoyable and at a suitable size. This system is capable of doing shows of a scale we find comfortable, in the region of ~1500 people. The main system is augmented with a variety of subwoofer configurations, scaling from 10-50kW - in end fire, arced cardiod, traditional cardiod, or bass arrays. Digital amplification and DSP from Linea Research and QSC drives the system.

The research and development of this concept lead to the further development and production of Exhibition 30, which distills these concepts and packages it into a more manageable form.
