Pros

Warm, smooth tuning with relaxed, non-fatiguing treble supports long listening sessions.

Vocals are a notable strength, with reviewers hearing clear, natural and realistically rendered midrange presence.

Light weight and gentle clamp make the VOID comfortable for extended wear, with the later revision improving fit.

Cons

Soundstage is modest for an open-back design, with recurring criticism of limited width, depth and spaciousness.

Bass extension and dynamic punch can feel restrained, especially on fast or sub-bass-heavy material.

Plastic construction divides opinion, with some reviewers finding it insufficiently premium or durable for the price.

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 79/100

The VOID’s warm, relaxed tuning and natural vocal tone appeal to reviewers looking for an easygoing listen, but technical performance is disputed. Its narrow, shallow presentation, limited sub-bass and restrained dynamic drive are recurring reservations, even as some reviewers found the later version clearer, airier and more spacious.

Bass

78/100

Headphonesty found a pronounced roll-off below roughly 70Hz, with slow, indistinct mid-bass that blurs on busy passages. Prime Audio Reviews instead considered it slightly tighter, faster and cleaner than the HD 650, while Tharbamar praised deep bass with capable equipment but still wanted a little more from the lowest notes.

Midrange

83/100

Vocals are a relative strength: Prime Audio Reviews heard more vocal clarity than the HD 650, and Tharbamar described voices as accurate, realistic and naturally coloured. Headphonesty was less convinced by the lower mids, calling them muddy and veiled, with softened guitar attack and acoustic transients.

Treble

85/100

Reviewers generally agree that the treble is smooth, calm and free of obvious harshness or sibilance. Headphonesty noted natural cymbal timbre but felt the recessed lower treble pushed hi-hats and cymbals too far back, whereas Prime Audio Reviews found it crisp and clear enough for comfortable higher-volume listening.

Resolution Detail

78/100

This is a notably divided area. Headphonesty found the VOID disappointing for resolution, while the earlier Tharbamar review heard good detail but limited spatial separation; the later review praised improved clarity, micro-detail and space between notes. Prime Audio Reviews also heard a modest improvement in clarity and detail with a different cable.

Soundstage Imaging

74/100

The stage is consistently described as modest in width for an open-back headphone. Prime Audio Reviews praised precise placement, a stable centre image and natural rather than boxy imaging, but Headphonesty heard a flat, depthless image and both Headphonesty and Tharbamar criticized the lack of spaciousness.

Dynamics

75/100

Headphonesty found both macro- and microdynamics severely subdued, with slow pacing making energetic music feel lethargic. Tharbamar similarly wanted more definition and dynamic impact, although the later review was much more enthusiastic about transient response, timing and dynamic range.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Comfort Fit

84/100

Most comments favour the light chassis, gentle clamp and comfortable pads. Headphonesty reported no hotspots during long sessions, Prime Audio Reviews found no pressure points, and the later Tharbamar review liked the secure fit without downward pressure; an earlier Tharbamar assessment did find the fit tight and somewhat uncomfortable around the head.

Build Quality

78/100

The plastic construction does not feel especially premium, and Headphonesty described it as cheap and poorly built. Prime Audio Reviews offered a more positive counterpoint, saying the revised plastic reduced cup clackiness and felt durable, though Tharbamar still considered the materials and pads unconvincing for the price.

Features Usability

83/100

The VOID uses dual 3.5mm cup connectors and includes a conventional braided 3.5mm cable. Prime Audio Reviews found the cable well handled, free of meaningful microphonics and generally problem-free; reviewers raise no major day-to-day usability faults.

Value for Money

86/100

At around $200, Prime Audio Reviews considered the VOID a good headphone for the price, and the later Tharbamar review readily recommended it. Headphonesty took the opposite view, arguing that weaker build and technical performance left it behind some headphones costing half as much, so its value depends heavily on whether its relaxed tonal balance suits the listener.
