Pros

Controlled, extended sub-bass supplies resonant depth without overwhelming the mix.

Forward female vocals and natural, smooth timbre create an easygoing, musical presentation.

Very light bullet-style shells are exceptionally comfortable for extended listening.

Strong tuning and value at its entry-level price.

Cons

Bass favors smooth rumble over the punch and slam bass-focused listeners may want.

Upper-treble shimmer, microdetail and fine separation are limited.

Soundstage remains intimate, with soft depth cues and only average imaging precision.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"The tuning on these are really well done—you'll be hard-pressed to find any real fault about these IEMs."

— Giz Audio

"The Moondrop Quark 2 provides excellent sub-bass extension with a nice controlled level of bass."

— Pragmatic Audio

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 79/100

Reviewers describe a notably smooth, natural and musical presentation, with controlled low-end extension and particularly prominent vocals. Its main limits are modest treble sparkle, congested fine detail in complex passages, and an intimate stage with limited depth.

Bass

83/100

Pragmatic Audio hears excellent sub-bass extension and controlled, resonant low end that supports orchestral material without overwhelming it. Giz Audio likewise finds both sub-bass and mid-bass present, though the response is smoother and more rumbly than punchy, with too little slam for bass-focused listeners.

Midrange

86/100

Giz Audio finds a slight but welcome warmth in lower mids, preserving a broadly neutral character for male vocals and lower-register instruments. Female vocals and upper-midrange instruments are very forward, making the midrange the central attraction but potentially overshadowing some bass presence.

Treble

80/100

The tuning is described as smooth, natural and free from irritating peaks, with convincing timbre rather than forced brightness. There is some treble energy, but Giz Audio notes that orchestral shimmer, cymbal shine and airy percussion are restrained.

Resolution Separation

72/100

Broad musical elements such as vocals, bass and treble remain distinct enough for an enjoyable listen. However, Giz Audio reports limited microdetail, while fine separation, attack and decay can become meshed together when listening more closely.

Soundstage Imaging

73/100

Left-to-right placement and basic sweeping effects are clearly conveyed, according to Giz Audio. Depth cues and pinpoint image placement are less convincing, while the stage stays mostly in the head with only a little width beyond it.

Dynamics Coherence

76/100

Giz Audio praises the overall presentation as smooth, relaxing and musical, with no obvious tonal peaks disrupting the experience. Still, the reported blurring of attack and decay in finer passages suggests limited transient definition and composure with dense material.

FIT COMFORT ISOLATION PERFORMANCE 64/100

The lightweight bullet-style housing is reported to be exceptionally easy to wear, but the available reviews do not address how reliably it seals across different ears or how much outside noise it blocks. Prospective buyers should therefore treat comfort as the well-supported strength here, rather than assuming strong isolation.

Seal Stability

50/100

The reviews do not discuss insertion security, seal consistency, or whether bass response changes with fit. There is therefore little listener evidence on how reliably the earpieces maintain a proper seal during normal use.

Comfort

91/100

Giz Audio describes the bullet-style earpieces as very light and comfortable. The reviewer says they are barely noticeable in the ears, which is especially encouraging for longer listening sessions.

Isolation

50/100

None of the supplied reviews offers a direct assessment of passive isolation in daily environments. Buyers looking for commuting or stage-monitoring isolation should seek additional fit and isolation impressions.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Build Accessories

50/100

The supplied reviews say little about shell durability, cable quality, connectors, included tips, or the accessory package. The lightweight bullet form is noted in relation to comfort, but long-term construction and ownership quality are not assessed.

Value for Money

89/100

At roughly $13 to $20, the Quark2 sits at a very accessible entry-level price. Giz Audio calls it budget-friendly and says the tuning is unusually hard to fault for the money, although the review does not directly compare it with specific competing IEMs.
