Audio-In Reviews found the original profiles too light in bass, but said the newer 5128 Target and Reference profiles add needed mid-bass and sub-bass rumble with good extension.

Both reviewers identify a lean lower-midrange: male vocals and fuller instruments can lack weight, richness and body. Prime Audio Reviews still found vocals detailed and articulate, though upper mids can become somewhat aggressive; Audio-In Reviews also found them close to unnatural on some material.

Treble is smooth, crisp and generally inoffensive rather than sharp or fatiguing. Both reviews describe a roll-off that limits upper-end air, shimmer and fine-detail retrieval, making these less suitable for listeners who want an especially airy or treble-forward sound.

Audio-In Reviews heard clean separation between bass and mids, with little bass bleed and respectable left-to-right instrument placement. However, it found layering limited, while Prime Audio Reviews specifically called microdetail retrieval lackluster.

Imaging is a relative strength, with Prime Audio Reviews calling it very good and useful for tracking positional cues in games. The stage itself is not especially wide: both reviews describe a more intimate presentation, although Prime Audio Reviews heard respectable forward depth for a true-wireless earbud.

Audio-In Reviews praised the newer profiles for impactful kick drums, satisfying slam and good dynamic energy. It also found the bass-to-midrange transition clean, though the reviews provide limited further discussion of complex passages or long-term driver integration.

Prime Audio Reviews reported that the shell shape and included tips worked well for its reviewer and provided a secure fit. The reviews do not otherwise offer much detail on seal consistency during movement, alternative tip sizes or fit-related bass variation.

Comfort feedback is consistently positive. Audio-In Reviews describes the earbuds as light and comfortable, while Prime Audio Reviews calls comfort great and particularly likes the fit of the stem-style design.

Active noise cancellation is regarded as effective, though neither reviewer considers it the very best available. Audio-In Reviews could still hear some outside noise but found ANC helpful, while Prime Audio Reviews placed it among the better sub-$100 true-wireless implementations.

At roughly $70-$79, Prime Audio Reviews considers the Golden Ages a pretty good buy. Audio-In Reviews is notably less convinced, preferring Moondrop's much cheaper $25 Space Travel, so the value case depends heavily on whether its particular tuning and stronger ANC appeal to the listener.
