Like Hifi and TED Publications heard impressively deep, powerful bass with real punch, heft and physical impact, while Alpha Audio praised its tight, clean and non-woolly low end. Soundnews also found it articulate, textured and well controlled, but wished for more low-end weight, impact and extension, confirming audible roll-off below roughly 32Hz.

Alpha Audio calls the midrange exceptionally open, insightful and clean, with strong emotional communication. Soundnews likewise heard lifelike, expressive vocals with natural scale and harmonic richness, although it notes that unsuitable partnering electronics can make the midband sound a little thin.

The MPD III tweeter earns repeated praise for its air, shimmer, fine detail and composure, with Soundnews finding no sharpness or fatigue even at high levels. There are small system-dependent reservations: Andrew Robinson found it mildly energetic and potentially bright at extreme volume, while TED Publications heard slightly less upper-treble sparkle than its reviewer prefers.

Imaging is a standout strength. Like Hifi describes sharply defined images, expansive reverberation and a stage that opens deeply into the room, while TED Publications heard the speakers disappear into a tremendous, wide and exceptionally deep presentation. Soundnews similarly reports stable, layered placement and convincing three-dimensional space when the system is carefully matched.

Like Hifi found transients consistently precise and forceful, and Soundnews praised the speaker's expressive microdynamics and its ability to preserve emotional nuance at any level. It also reached substantial real-world peak levels before distortion became audible, though that review notes a lower ceiling for low-frequency punch than its overall agility might suggest.

The cabinet construction receives unusually emphatic praise: reviewers describe it as extremely rigid, inert and acoustically dead, with substantial bracing and a notably thick front baffle. Fit and finish are repeatedly called flawless or impeccable, while the lacquer, detailing, outriggers and terminals support the genuinely high-end impression.

At approximately €11,000 per pair in Europe, $13,900 in the US and $17,500 CAD, this is plainly a serious high-end purchase. Even so, Like Hifi says its performance sits above its price class, and TED Publications calls it an attainable high-end speaker of astounding value; Andrew Robinson offers the main counterpoint, noting that less expensive alternatives may equal or better it in particular areas.
