Monitor Audio CL2 M
Monitor Audio CL2 M — outdoor sound with indoor fidelity
The Monitor Audio CL2 M brings near-indoor speaker performance to outdoor and mounted applications with a weatherproof, installation-friendly design. Built around a 6" RST II bass-mid driver, a 25mm C-CAM black dome tweeter and an Auxiliary Bass Radiator, the CL2 M offers surprisingly deep, controlled low end, a detailed midrange and refined highs that suit both garden listening and dedicated indoor zones. IP66-rated sealed ABS construction, a die-cast Quik-Link bracket and a five-year warranty underline its durability for commercial and residential installs.
Reviewers note Monitor Audio's emphasis on acoustic transparency and realism, achieved through carefully voiced crossovers and the brand's long-developed C-CAM tweeter technology. The speaker's 42Hz–30kHz on‑wall response, 110dB peak SPL capability and 200W recommended amplifier power mean the CL2 M handles dynamic material with authority when driven properly, while the rotatable Quik-Link bracket lets installers aim imaging precisely.
Ideal for patios, home gyms, small home‑theatre surrounds and pro install use, the CL2 M pairs high-end sonic intent with practical weatherproofing and smart mounting for strong value in CI and outdoor systems.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 89/100
Bass
91/100
6" driver plus an Auxiliary Bass Radiator (passive radiator) provides strong low-frequency support; reviewers note the ABR 'supports lower bass frequencies' much like a port. For its size the bass extension and authority are described as bringing indoor-like performance to an outdoor design.
Mid
90/100
RST II mid-bass driver is credited with 'pistonic motion for optimal realism and clarity' and 'musical neutrality and acoustic transparency', indicating very good timbral accuracy and vocal presence for the design.
Treble
90/100
C-CAM black dome tweeter is reported as refined for clarity, realism and detail; reviewers emphasize clear highs suited to both indoor and outdoor listening with minimal harshness.
Soundstage Imaging
88/100
Reviewers say the speakers are designed to 'blend into environments' and can be 'aimed' with a rotatable Quik‑Link bracket, suggesting good imaging control and placement flexibility that supports coherent on-wall staging.
Dynamics
86/100
High max SPL (110 dB) and robust recommended amplifier power (up to 200 W) point to strong macro dynamics and punch for the form factor, though sensitivity (85.5 dB) tempers expectation for effortless dynamics with low-power amps.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
92/100
One-piece molded ABS cabinet reinforced with glass fiber, IP66 rating, die-cast aluminum mounting bracket and 5-year warranty all indicate very solid weatherproofing and durable construction.
Features Connectivity
81/100
Passive single‑post baseline applied (80) plus +1 for the integrated Quik‑Link die‑cast mounting system that improves installation flexibility; no DSP/streaming expected for passive outdoor speakers.
Value for Money
86/100
Reviewer calls the Climate Series 'reasonable price points' and 'highly competitive in the CI and commercial categories'; at the listed price (~750) the build, IP66 rating and performance position it as a strong value for professional/installation use.
