The dedicated player Ethernet connection is designed to remove non-music network traffic, and reviewers consistently associate this approach with lower noise, a quieter background and more stable playback. Hi-Fi Choice heard more space and dynamics than from a laptop or conventional NAS, while Hans Beekhuyzen describes the USB output as very clean.

The Melco app is described as reliable, clear, stable and intuitive, with Tidal and Qobuz integration available through the platform. However, reviewers note slightly sluggish response, iPad-only native-app support, and an interface that is functional rather than as slick or attractive as some competitors.
