Margules ORPHEO CENTURY OVERTURE

View at Margules

With the inspiration, knowledge, and talent of Julián Margules, and the aesthetic and functional design of Deborah Margules, the Orpheo Century series sets the tone for the celebration of our first centennial in Mexico.

The Overture, in a bookshelf format, is the first step in this commemoration— the result of decades of research and technological development, crafted to deliver an organic, natural sound that recreates clear, vivid soundscapes and faithfully conveys the artist's emotions.

With the potential to become a world reference among audiophiles, Overture speakers in conjunction with Margules amplifiers will allow you to enjoy an organic and natural sound, which recreates crisp and clear sound images, capable of transmitting the emotions of the artist's work.

Excellence is always the main characteristic of our equipment, integrated from the design of the Overture, which incorporates a carefully designed crossover, with high quality components that guarantee performance and durability.

The Overture are the first speakers with whom we celebrate the Century of Margules, where we demonstrate the result of our research and technological development, to provide one of the best audible experiences you can enjoy, in a bookshelf speaker format.

The New Line Orpheo Century, model Overture has a two-way configuration, implemented with a 6.5 in. transducer made of ultra–lightweight, long excursion material as well as an AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter and a carefully designed crossover network.

Transducers made of ultra–lightweight, high rigidity, low mass, and long excursion material provide very low distortion and high internal speed. This, with the purpose of maintaining the integrity of the harmonic structure of the music and audio.

The box that houses the transducers is built with several layers of materials with different characteristics: the first internal layer is absorbent for high frequencies; The following is a concrete sheet with high rigidity fibers and the third is HDF; These layers have different acoustic properties to prevent the box from resonating at frequencies that add harmonics to the audio.

The crossover network is one of the core parts of all Margules speakers, since it makes the transducers or speakers operate at their optimal parameters by aligning the time and phase of the signal, as well as the correct intensity of each one to achieve a linear and realistic response, generating the characteristic Margules sound.

These networks are of the first order with an air core to prevent them from saturating, their components include audiophile grade elements with extreme speed of response to transients and micro dynamics guaranteeing sound reproduction without coloration through a wide dynamic range as it is already custom in our brand.

Using natural elements combined with a high-tech nanometric coating that is easily repairable in case of scratches, with a front carved from a single piece of walnut wood and finished with an environmentally friendly oil that is also relatively easy to restore, the aesthetic and functional design approach was carried out by Deborah Margules.

Configuration

The new Orpheo Century Overture has a two-way configuration, implemented with a 6.5 in. transducer made of ultra-lightweight, high rigidity, low mass, and long excursion material, and an AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter.

Crossover network

First order with an air core, in order to operate at their optimal parameters by aligning the time and phase of the signal, as well as the correct intensity of each one to achieve a linear and realistic response.

Three layer speaker box enclosure

First internal layer is absorbent for high frequencies.

Second layer is a concrete sheet with high rigidity fibers.

Third layer made of HDF (high density fibreboard).

The aesthetic design uses natural elements combined with a high-tech nanometric coating that is easily repaired in case of scratches.

The front is carved from a piece of Walnut wood. Its oil finish does not contaminate and can be repaired relatively easily.

Neuro-Acoustic Alignment (ANA®)

The ANA® technology (Neuro-Acoustic Alignment) is one of Margules' technological innovations developed from a fundamental principle: the human brain perceives sound by prioritizing the harmonic structure above fundamental tone; that is, it focuses on how humans perceive sound and not on how we measure it.

This technological advance originates from the engaging sound theory and is based on the way in which our brain decodes the information from the sound waves through the ears: when sounds are closer, they keep us focused due to the relation between perception and sound, the distance at which we perceive them and their intelligibility, whereas distant sounds, even when intelligible, do not catch our attention and are easily ignored.

Our ANA® technology is designed to achieve a realistic sound, with a wide frequency response, low distortion and precise harmonic reproduction, optimizing to the utmost the relationship between the source and the receiver, so that you can enjoy your music in a way you have never experienced before.
