The Magnat Alpha RS 8 is a space-saving active subwoofer that brings rich, powerful bass to small to medium-sized rooms. With its 8″ / 20 cm long-throw woofer, 160 watts peak power and two front-mounted Airflex ports, it delivers punchy, low-distortion bass performance for movies, music and games. Thanks to its versatile application options and easy integration, it is the ideal addition to compact hi-fi or home cinema systems.

Despite its compact dimensions, the RS 8 delivers impressive bass performance. Its powerful 20 cm woofer, the Klippel®-optimized drive system and the Class D amplifier ensure controlled bass down to 25 Hz - ideal for shelf speaker systems or compact AV setups. The coated paper cone and the ventilated voice coil are designed for demanding reproduction and guarantee clarity and control even at high levels.

The RS 8 has both low-level inputs (RCA) and high-level inputs (speaker terminals), making it compatible with both modern receivers and older amplifiers without a subwoofer output. An adjustable crossover and phase adjustment ensure seamless coordination with existing speakers. Thanks to the auto on/off function and energy-saving standby mode, the subwoofer works efficiently, practically and is always ready to use when you are.

Whether in a 2.1 stereo setup or as part of a 5.1 home cinema system, the Alpha RS 8 gives the sound image more depth, pressure and atmosphere without dominating the room. This makes it the ideal solution for bedrooms, offices or apartments where high-quality bass is required, but the space requirement remains limited. The elegant black ash or mocha finish also ensures that the subwoofer is as visually appealing as it is sound.

DESIGNED FOR POWERFUL BASS

The Alpha subwoofer delivers deep and precise bass thanks to a carefully tuned combination of high-quality components. Its advanced magnet system ensures stable and controlled movement of the woofer and reduces distortion even at high volumes. A ventilated voice coil prevents overheating and ensures reliable performance even during long listening sessions.

The stiff, coated paper cone is designed for uniform movement and quick response to signal changes. The result is a clean, powerful bass that gives music and films noticeable pressure and real dynamics.

FRONT-FIRING SUBWOOFER WITH AIRFLEX PORT TECHNOLOGY

The Alpha RS subwoofers rely on a front-firing design in combination with a double bass reflex port construction, which is designed for maximum acoustic efficiency. The two Airflex ports are precisely tuned to minimize air turbulence and flow noise even at high levels - for clean, distortion-free bass reproduction.

The forward-radiating design improves the bass distribution in the room and enables particularly flexible positioning. The Alpha RS subwoofers deliver a consistent, punchy bass over a large listening area.

EFFICIENT CLASS-D AMPLIFICATION WITH FLEXIBLE TUNING OPTIONS

The Magnat RS 8 is equipped with a powerful and efficient Class D amplifier that delivers precise, dynamic bass with minimal heat generation. For seamless integration into any AV setup, it has an active frequency response equalization (LPC circuit) up to 150 Hz, which ensures harmonious transitions between subwoofer and main speakers.

The amplifier offers versatile setting options with adjustable volume, adjustable crossover frequency and a switchable phase from 0° to 180°. The RS 8 also shows flexibility in terms of connectivity: stereo high-level inputs via screw terminals enable connection to a wide variety of systems.

For added convenience and high energy efficiency, the subwoofer has an automatic standby function with an extremely low power consumption of less than 0.5 watts. It also supports a universal mains voltage of 110–240 V at 50/60 Hz.

ROBUST, LOW-RESONANCE HOUSING WITH ACOUSTIC DECOUPLING

The Magnat RS 8 has a stable, low-resonance MDF housing that is designed for optimal performance and high versatility.

Large feet with resonance-absorbing rubber inserts ensure effective decoupling from the floor, reduce vibrations and improve sound clarity. A removable front cover offers additional flexibility in appearance and protection and makes the RS 8 a harmonious addition to any home cinema or hi-fi setup.
