The Magnat MR 780 is a high-quality hybrid stereo receiver that skillfully combines the warmth of classic tube technology with modern digital versatility. Its low-noise preamplifier section, equipped with two selected ECC-81 tubes, delivers a rich, natural sound – ideal for audiophiles who appreciate analog character without sacrificing contemporary connectivity.
The receiver offers comprehensive compatibility with analog and digital sources. Five RCA line inputs, a dedicated MM phono stage with subsonic filter for vinyl playback, and a 3.5mm front connector for portable devices are available. For digital audio signals, the MR 780 is equipped with a powerful Wolfson WM8740 DAC, two optical and two coaxial inputs, and USB Audio 2.0 for high-resolution playback up to 192 kHz / 24 bit. Integrated Bluetooth® 4.0 with aptX™ enables high-quality wireless streaming from compatible smartphones, tablets or laptops.
For private listening pleasure, a high-quality 6.3mm headphone output is provided, which also confidently drives high-impedance headphones. In addition, a level-constant record out is available, which allows for easy integration of external recording devices or amplifiers.
POWERFUL A/B AMPLIFICATION AND AUDIOPHILE POWER SUPPLY
At the heart of the Magnat MR 780 is a discretely built high-performance power amplifier that delivers outstanding dynamics and clarity across the entire frequency range. Each channel provides 100 watts of RMS power into 4 ohms, offering generous power reserves and precise control, even with demanding loudspeakers.
The power amplifier is supported by an elaborately designed power supply that uses a complex power supply architecture and individually stabilized supply voltages for each internal circuit. This minimizes mutual interference and ensures consistent performance under load. A shielded toroidal transformer provides clean, efficient power delivery and reduces electromagnetic interference.
To support high dynamic peaks and maintain stability during complex musical passages, the MR 780 is equipped with high-capacity filter and electrolytic capacitors. In addition, a separate standby power supply reduces energy consumption to a minimum when idle - a successful combination of performance and efficiency.
FM/DAB TUNER
The Magnat MR 780 is equipped with a fully integrated digital DAB/DAB+ tuner as well as an FM tuner, providing access to a wide selection of digital and analog radio stations. DAB/DAB+ ensures crystal-clear reception and access to current digital radio programs, while the FM tuner offers reliable performance for classic radio listening.
Thanks to RDS (Radio Data System) and radio text function, station names, music titles and program information are clearly displayed on the device's OLED display. For maximum convenience, 40 freely programmable station presets are available for DAB/DAB+ and FM, so favorite stations can be quickly accessed at any time.
An intuitive station search facilitates the finding of DAB programs, while the automatic scan function makes searching and storing FM stations quick and effortless.
