Lyngdorf Audio MH-3
The Lyngdorf MH-3 brings open vocal clarity, natural detail and startlingly lively dynamics to a barely-there sealed satellite. Best of High End found it composed and detailed at high levels, while its shallow cabinet and forgiving placement make it an elegant, high-output partner for a subwoofer-based system.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 82/100
This is a highly compact satellite voiced for natural clarity and unusually assured high-level playback. Its strongest reported qualities are vocal openness, detail and dynamic stamina, while the stated 110 Hz low-frequency limit makes deep bass the clear trade-off of its tiny sealed enclosure.
Bass
74/100
The review does not provide a substantive listening assessment of bass performance. With a specified response beginning at 110 Hz, the MH-3 is designed as a satellite rather than a full-range stand-mount and will need subwoofer support for deep bass.
Mid
88/100
Lyngdorf’s stated aim for the MH-3 is open voice reproduction, and the review describes its overall presentation as natural and detailed. That points to a clear, communicative midrange suited to vocals and acoustic material.
Treble
86/100
The available coverage highlights open voices and transient reproduction, while also calling the speaker natural and detailed at high levels. There is no reported harshness or loss of composure, though treble-specific listening detail is limited.
Soundstage Imaging
75/100
The review says the speaker can be positioned up to 30 cm above or below listening height without compromising the experience, which is useful placement flexibility. It offers little direct evidence about stage width, depth, image focus or layering.
Dynamics
94/100
Dynamics are the MH-3’s standout strength. The reviewer says it sets a new bar for high-level dynamic performance from such a small speaker and reports that it can play loudly for extended periods while remaining natural and detailed.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
81/100
The MH-3 uses a compact full-MDF sealed cabinet, a vented-magnet aluminium-cone driver and a temperature-resistant voice coil intended to control heat and distortion. The review describes the engineering but provides little direct commentary on fit, finish or long-term durability.
Value for Money
85/100
At roughly $279 to $599 depending on market and configuration, the MH-3 is a specialist compact satellite rather than a conventional full-range bookshelf speaker. The review does not directly assess value against competing speakers, although its exceptional reported output and dynamics help explain its premium positioning.

Manufacturer's Description — Lyngdorf Audio
Based upon the compact Lyngdorf speaker designs, the MH-3 sets a new bar for how small a speaker can be, while still providing high-level dynamic performance. With a focus on reproduction of open voices and tight transients, the MH-3 is the optimal choice for a small stereo or media room installation with subwoofers.
Powerful and compact design
The MH-3 is a two-way speaker with a powerful 4” midrange driver mounted in a very compact enclosure featuring wall mounts. In order to have an audiophile performance in this extremely small cabinet, we have designed this 4” driver with a magnet 50% stronger than traditional 4” drivers. This magnet design results in a higher sensitivity and a linear frequency response in this important frequency range.
Flexibility in installation
The MH-3 provides significant flexibility in placement due to the compact cabinet design and wide vertical dispersion pattern of the special tweeter design. The MH-3 may be placed 12”/30 cm above or below listening height without compromising the listening experience. This is the result of the very compact design of the soft dome tweeter, chosen for its lightweight structure, low noise, and linear frequency response. This tweeter has the added advantage of emphasizing musicality over analytic qualities, thus providing a truly musical experience.
Ease of installation is taken one step further with the very compact cabinet designed for wall mounting. The depth of the cabinet has been reduced to just over three inches, ensuring discreet placement along with optimal coupling to the room for nearly perfect timing response. As one expects from Lyngdorf Audio, the quality of the cabinet is apparent from the solid structure emphasizing our focus on dynamic music reproduction and high-quality performance.
