Lyngdorf Audio DW-1
Delivers deep, precise bass down to 30 Hz with 109 dB SPL capability, driven by a high-excursion 10" woofer and four-layer voice coil. Pros
Extends to ~30 Hz with high SPL potential, offering tight, authoritative low end for in-wall designs.
Shallow, discreet in-wall form factor with a paintable magnetic grille for near-invisible integration into living spaces.
Robust engineering — MDF cabinet with internal bracing and a dual-aluminium, neodymium-driven 10" woofer for durability and control.
Designed to benefit from room-correction (RoomPerfect) and system tuning for seamless integration with home-theater setups.
Cons
Positioned at a premium price for a passive in-wall woofer, which may challenge value comparisons.
Being passive, it requires a substantial external amplifier/DSP (recommended ~400 W) to reach its full potential.

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 89/100
Bass
90/100
Inference from 10" dual-aluminium driver, 30 Hz (-3 dB) extension and 109 dB max SPL. No reviewer measurements provided; score reflects strong spec-driven low-frequency potential for an in-wall 10" design.
Dynamics
88/100
4-layer voice coil, neodymium motor and 300 W IEC handling indicate strong transient control and headroom potential. Score based on component-level cues in absence of reviewer reports.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Integration
78/100
Passive in-wall design and boundary placement recommendations imply good on-axis blending potential when used with appropriate external amp/DSP; however, no listening/outcome evidence is provided. Features ≠ Integration; add outcome evidence or lower Integration.
Build Quality
92/100
MDF enclosure with internal bracing, dual-aluminium cone and neodymium magnet point to robust construction and well-engineered driver. Finish options (matte black, paintable grille) are consistent with high-end in-wall hardware.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive connectivity (gold-plated push spring terminals) and recommended external amp/DSP imply limited onboard features but straightforward installation. Passive baseline applied.
Value for Money
72/100
At listed price (~3147), the unit sits at a premium for a passive in-wall woofer; strong construction and driver tech justify much of the cost, but no review language claims 'no-brainer' or 'best in class.'

Manufacturer's Description — Lyngdorf Audio
Impressive bass from a shallow design
The DW-1 is a high-performance in-wall woofer specifically made for custom installations that require the most shallow woofer solution. The rigid and sealed enclosure is very easy to integrate and perfectly fits 4 inch/10 cm cavity walls, while the extended height provides the large inner cabinet volume required for remarkable bass extension. In combination with a very powerful driver, the DW-1 delivers an impressive bass performance. The DW-1 can be used in-wall floor-standing or custom-mounted in-ceiling and comes with a paintable, magnetically held grill to cover the woofer front.
Powerful high-excursion 10 inch woofer
The very limited depth inside an in-wall woofer requires a special high-performance driver. The DW-1 utilizes a patented high-excursion shallow woofer design, customized for Lyngdorf Audio and based on an innovative voice-coil / cone geometry and suspension, which allows the highest excursion from the most space-saving construction. A four-layer voice coil, an ultra-rigid dual aluminum cone, a very powerful neodymium magnet, and an extremely rigid cast basket provide impressive bass performance, achieving a high output level and low reach. The high-bandwidth design ensures an accurate, fast response and allows the most seamless sound integration with the main speakers.
Extremely shallow high-excursion woofer
The DW-1 utilizes an unusually shallow and patented woofer design customized for Lyngdorf Audio, with an innovative voice-coil/cone geometry and suspension to allow a space-saving yet high-excursion construction.
Ideal for 4 inch / 10 cm cavity walls
The DW-1 is specifically made for custom installations which require the most shallow woofer solution, perfectly fitting 4 inch/10 cm cavity walls.
Rigid enclosure construction
The sealed and rigid enclosure is made from high-quality MDF with internal bracing to avoid unwanted resonance and vibration.
