Pros
Exceptionally deep, controlled bass integrates coherently with the rest of the spectrum, avoiding room-driven boom.
Expansive yet precise imaging delivers stable soundstaging, convincing depth and strong instrument placement.
Natural timbre, subtle detail and wide dynamic contrasts remain compelling from quiet passages to large-scale music.
Cons
Its revealing upper-midrange balance exposes harsh microphones and poorly produced recordings rather than smoothing them over.
At 288 pounds per speaker, installation and placement demand serious planning and assistance.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 97/100
Reviewers describe an exceptionally complete, large-scale presentation combining unusually controlled deep bass, natural instrumental timbre, highly extended treble, and expansive imaging. The Wavelet 2’s room correction and Stereo Unfold processing are central to the system’s coherence and its ability to maintain these strengths in real listening rooms.
Bass
97/100
The Absolute Sound calls the bass performance “truly terrific” in virtually any decent listening room, with near-flat in-room response and substantially improved definition and dynamic expression. It also found the Valor more coherent and focused at integrating deep bass with the rest of the music than many costly systems using separate subwoofers.
Mid
96/100
Anthony Cordesman heard smoother, better-articulated transitions through upper bass and lower midrange, benefiting cello, bass guitar, percussion, brass, and deeper male voices. He found timbre and subtle musical detail among the most natural he had heard with well-recorded acoustic material.
Treble
97/100
The dual AMT array is praised for uniform treble coverage even well off to the side, while Dagogo heard exceptional extension, information retrieval, dynamic freedom, and convincing cymbal weight. The system is revealing enough to expose aggressive upper-midrange content in poorer recordings rather than smoothing it over.
Soundstage Imaging
97/100
The Absolute Sound reports a remarkably stable stage as listeners move off center, along with unusually convincing depth, instrument placement, and retrieval of left-to-right detail. Dagogo likewise praises pinpoint central imaging and a dramatically expanded peripheral soundfield from the ambient-array implementation.
Dynamics
97/100
Cordesman heard a new level of dynamic detail and contrast across rock, organ, synthesizer, bass guitar, and large orchestral works, calling the overall contrasts among the most natural he had experienced at any volume. Dagogo also notes higher dynamic crests than Legacy’s prior V model, even at modest listening levels.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
94/100
The Absolute Sound describes the Valor as superbly built, with each substantial enclosure weighing 288 pounds while remaining visually manageable for a speaker of this scale. Review coverage also points to extensive driver, amplification, and array-development work, though there is limited direct discussion of finish durability or long-term ownership.
Value for Money
89/100
At a reviewed price of $86,000 per pair, and with current supplied pricing listed at $100,000, this is plainly a major investment. Still, The Absolute Sound says it outperforms some considerably more expensive systems and calls it a genuinely great, innovative system worth seeking out for an audition; the reviews do not offer a detailed direct comparison with similarly priced rivals.

Manufacturer's Description — Legacy Audio
The flagship Legacy loudspeaker, Valor, relies on graceful styling to conceal an extraordinary arsenal of technology. At nearly six feet in height and closing in on 300 pounds the Valor employs 2750 watts of internal power per side and a 64 bit processor to reproduce even the most dynamic performances with unprecedented detail.
The Valor System: Transcending the Limitations of the Listening Room
Legacy Audio’s Valor system combines decades of experience in sound field reconstruction with cutting-edge mathematical algorithms to provide the ultimate in immersive “feels like the artists are in the room” experience.
The Valor system as a whole is about acoustic steering, making sure that both side to side and vertical information in recordings arrive at your ear correctly. In a two stage process, a Room Correction algorithm cleans up the early unwanted reflections from your room’s floor, ceiling and walls. It then delivers audio as the engineers intended with all the spacial placements and sound stage recreated so you feel like you are in the room with the musicians.
THE FULLEST POSSIBLE IMMERSION FROM A HOME SPEAKER SYSTEM
With the Valor system, every detail of a performance is brought to life. Each performer seems to inhabit their own dimensional space. Timbre is rendered with exceptional richness—from the sonorous tones of a saxophone to the delicate swish of brushes on a snare drum. When the Omnio spacial enhancement on the Wavelet is engaged, the natural harmonics of vocals and stringed instruments are so lifelike that it transforms the stereo playback experience.
The Legacy Valor system’s dual 4″ AMT tweeters are mounted in a post-convergent array, a design that ensures a wider, more consistent soundstage. This precise configuration prevents tonal shifts, delivering uniform, detailed high frequencies even when listening off-axis.
The VALOR bass section includes 140 lbs of motor structure and 415 cubic inches of linear displacement driven by 1400W of ICEpower® technology.
